“An incredibly friendly and efficient hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2010

I have stayed in this hotel a number of times and am constantly impressed with their service and quality. Their renovated rooms are airy and comfortable. The food is wonderful, whether for breakfast or in the lounge, and they have amazing views of the Old City of Jerusalem. What is most important/unique is that this hotel has a real warmth and a homey feel. They managed to make my group of 100 guests feel special and right at home. Would definitely stay here again.

This was our first trip to Israel and I always thought the King David was where we would stay, but the kind souls on Tripadvisor strongly suggested The Inbal. I'm so glad we took their advice. I repeatedly said to my husband, "I'm so happy we stayed here."

The hotel reminds me of the Sofitel; very contemporary and elegant. Even though it is a large hotel, it almost feels like a boutique hotel. We spent a little extra money to stay on the executive floor. This was so worth it! The lounge is just for people over 18, so it was quiet. There were international newspapers, a computer that we could use at no charge, a large flat screen tv, and complimentary snacks and even meals throughout the day.

We met so many interesting people in that lounge. All of them who loved Israel, many who had been coming to Israel for vacation for years. We used the lounge every day.

Our room was lovely. It even had a little balcony. The only difference from a high end hotel in the US, would be that the bathroom was a little smaller. But really that was the only difference.

The breakfast buffet was also included in the rate. It was overwhelming! Every day we looked forward to the huge array of salads, cheeses, breads, smoked fish, pastries, etc. The bagels were even better then the ones we get in NY. It was just excellent.

We stayed for Friday night dinner at the hotel and the buffet was truly amazing. We thought it would just be roast chicken....but no, it was everything from hand carved corned beef to roast duck and even sushi.

The staff at the hotel was just lovely. We felt very welcome and safe. We did go to the King David for lunch one day and it was very nice. But we left there saying, "we so made the right choice with the Inbal."

I should also mention that the Inbal is maybe 3 blocks from the King David and within walking distance of the Old City. But the best part is that just 2 blocks from the Inbal is a street with tons of cafes and restaurants and wonderful shops. We went there almost every night for dinner and to do some shopping. It is so lively and beautiful. We loved being able to walk back and forth and see that Jerusalem is so alive. No matter what you see on tv or read in the paper....this beautiful city feels incredibly safe and alive.

I never thought I would say this....but Jerusalem feels more alive and safe to me then any city I've been to the in U.S.

Our family came to Jerusalem from other parts of Israel to spend a Shabbat together. The location, the rooms, the food and the service gave us the opportunity to spend a lovely family Shabbat. The hotel was just the right size for us to be together most of the time, but also to split off into generational and interest groups too. We had a great time.

Perfect place to stay in Jerusalem. Close walking distance to shops, restaurants and the Old City. Only has breakfasts there, and they were, as always in Israel, amazing. Staff is very friendly. Rooms are very comfortable, perfect for a late-afternoon nap after a busy day playing tourist!

We stayed there for a week at the end of May 2010. Everything is ok if you do not have high expectations. The housekeeping do a good job as we found the room was clean all the way. But it is relative small, anyway it didn't bother us much.

There was no change of breakfast varieties for the whole period of our stay, except on Saturday due to Shabbat that the choices were even reduced. But the food are in good quality and tasty. The buffet choices are not rich but ok.

The health club, with exercise bikes, swimming pool and sauna, etc. is good equipped and cleaned.

Internet costs 75NIS per day.

The restaurant that opposite the hotel, something like fish and olive, could be the worst dinner we had in Jerusalem. The waiters were very nice and friendly, but the food ......If you want dinner in the nearby, just go to german colony in ca. 10-15 min. walk.

This hotel is actually very ok, nothing bad for us, but definitely not deserve to be in this price range.

Whether i would recommend this hotel? Yes if you could able to get very good discount, otherwise.....

We had an incredible time in Jerusalem and we owe a great deal to the Inbal for making the experience wonderful. The staff was extremely attentive, the rooms were spacious, and the concierge patiently answered all of our questions and signed us up for unforgettable tours to nearby sites. The hotel's personal touch was evident each evening as the concierge, recognizing us, would ask us how we were doing. The hotel’s location and convenient gift shop added to the easy logistics of our stay and made getting around a simple task regardless of where we wanted to go. We were even able to rent a cell phone at Inbal (the phone could be returned to the airport upon our departure from Israel.) The location of the hotel is one of its great advantages- walking distance from the Old City and the German Colony, a hip neighborhood with delicious cafes and inviting restaurants. We have already recommended this hotel to our friends and we will definitely not be searching for other hotels when we next travel to Jerusalem. Thank you very much to the Inbal staff for a wonderful hotel experience.

We stayed at the Inbal for 3 nights. It is a pleasant hotel in a good location. It took us around 20 minutes to walk to the Kotel. The rooms are adequate - not amazingly decorated but clean and comfortable. The beds are two twins moved together but large and comfy. It has a lovely friendly atmosphere and the staff were amenable. We ate in the hotel restaurant the first night but the service was appalling - we had to wait ages for the food and the Maitred' and the rest of the staff were running around like headless chickens. When we complained to reception, we were told this was because it was the day after Pesach and a lot of the staff had been given time off. We were given a discount on our meal as a result. We also ate our Friday night Shabbat meal in the buffet restaurant. This was adequate - the food was a little school dinnery but the quantity and choice was huge. However it was around £40 per head so we wanted quantity for that amount! The service this time was much better and I do think our first experience was a blip. The breakfast was fabulous, very fresh and loads to choose from. The pool is large with plenty of seating. I would definitely stay here again although it is not one of the 'trendier' or more modern hotels that we usually go for. It did have a lovely 'feel' to it and we all felt perfectly comfortable and at home. The star of the show was Jerusalem itself, which we absolutely fell in love with - what a beautiful city. Can't wait to go back.

Thank you for taking the time to post your experiences on Tripadvisor; it is through comments such as these that we are able to expand our offering for the future.
It always evokes a great pleasure when guests enjoy our fabulous city, and especially their experiences with us (once any “blips” have been smoothened out). Thank you for your kind words in regards to the feel and overall service at the hotel, and our apologies for the initial, temporary, drop in service delivery.
I am pleased we managed to overcome any preliminary glitches to ensure you had an enjoyable trip. Greatly looking forward to welcoming you back soon,
Ruth, Assistant to General Manager
