“My Israel home away from home”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

Always enjoy staying at the Inbal (formerly the LaRomme). Rates are good, rooms are comfortable, service is good and know many of the hotel personnel which helps. Good, plentiful Israeli breakfast and lots of places to meet, schmooze and hang out -- if you're not seeing the sights and sounds of Jerusalem.

Dear Lee,
I thank you for taking the time to write this lovely post here. It is always a pleasure to host you,and nice to learn that you enjoyed yourself . I hope you noticed our renovated lobby with the new wall windows that enlarge the space and allow for beautiful sunlight to stream in and illuminate. I know you left before the new furniture arrived, so you have something new to look forward to on your next visit . Hopefully by then the rooms will be finished as well.

kind regards & see you on twitter

4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

It was my second trip to Jerusalem last week. First time I stayed in Ramada and liked nothing other than food and the swimming pool there. When choosing a hotel this time, I decided to definitely go for a 5-star hotel with a closed swimming pool, a decent gym and located centrally. Having booked the hotel some 2 months in advance, I paid around USD 1,000 for a three night stay for two people.
Needless to say how I found the hotel if two minutes after being taken to my room, I called the reception with a request to change it. The furniture is old and tired, there is NOTHING at all in the mini-bar (and that is supposed to be a 5-star hotel!), there are holes in the curtain and, overall, it looks cheap. The other room was even worse as mine had at least a new bathroom. In the end, I stayed in the first room as having a new bathroom was better than having an old one.
The restaurant downstairs is nice, the bar is cosy. The gym is very good and the swimming pool is lovely.

Dear glbtravler

Thank you for taking the time to write this post. Our guests' comments are invaluable to us as they are our most reliable source of information for monitoring and improving the services we offer.
I would like to add to the information you posted. The measured distance to the wailing wall is 10 minutes, and to Mamila mall it is 6 minutes. I would also add that we are renovating the hotel and have just finished some of the refurbishments of the lobby; with new windows lighting up the place and new furniture . The rooms with new lighting, carpets, furniture and new bathrooms. We have already completed the 8th 7th and 6th floors .
I thank you again for this lovely post and hope to see you among our guests in the future.
kind regards,

It's your first trip to Israel, of course you want to visit Jerusalem, but where to stay? There's the two premier giants: David Citadel and the King David. There's the premium boutique: Mamilla and then there's the Dan and Inbal. The Inbal is less expensive than the others. What's wrong with it? Is it downscale? Is it dirty? Does service not match up? Nothing, no, no and no.

I've stayed at David Citadel, Mamilla and Inbal and here is the deal with the Inbal. It is about two blocks further from Mamilla Mall and therefore Jaffa Gate (Old City) than The King David. It is about a 10 minute walk to the top of Mamilla Mall from Inbal. There aren't a lot of restaurants or bars right near Inbal - it's about a 10-15 minute walk to Ben Yehuda Street. The rooms are very traditional Marriott or Hilton style rooms - if you're American, you've stayed in this kind of room before. And that's about it. Otherwise, it's a great hotel, with great service and less expensive than the others. You lose the beautiful lobbies of King David or Mamilla (but the lobby of Inbal is still very nice), and you have to walk a few more steps through a park down to Dung Gate to get to the Jewish Quarter in Old City or an extra 10-15 minutes walking to get to Jaffa Gate and Muslim Market. But these are pretty minor compromises. Jerusalem is still relatively small and compact in the center, and the Inbal is certainly in the center. The rooms are clean, the service is great and the breakfast is on par with the other luxury hotels in the city.

I liked it and would stay there again - although I do prefer a more central location. No complaints at all.

We drove down from the north of Israel to stay at the Inbal Hotel.
We had a fantastic time and enjoy all the lovely amenities
that this hotel offered. Nothing was to much trouble for the staff
and we will certainly come back again.
We certainly will stay there again

Room Tip: We had a room with a small balcony which had a lovely view of the old city.

Each and every aspect of our stay at the Inbal Jerusalem Hotel was absolutely world-class. Everything consistently met and exceeded our expectations.

From the moment that we checked-in, everything that we experienced was first class, from the
most amazing, professional, courteous and accommodating staff to the impeccable and beautiful room with an awesome view of the Old City. In addition, the Inbal is located in a very lovely neighborhood that is in very close proximity to all of Jerusalem's attractions.

While we have stayed at many hotels around the world, no other property even comes close to what we experienced at the Inbal -- It is truly one of a kind.

We very much look forward to returning to the Inbal the next time we are in Israel!

This is my second stay at this hotel. Was very disappointed. We requested a double room NOT overlooking area where buses park in the morning as very noisy- we got a twin overlooking area where buses are. Was told hotel full so coukd not move. Bed so uncomfortable - towels threadbare and more like hand towels. Room so dated. Def not 5 star luxury as advertised . Twice asked concierge simple questions and they gave me blank look! One needs people who can understand English and offer to help and to find out answers. The guys on front desk not very well trained. I asked where cooking demonstration was and one looked blank and said what demonstration and the other two sent me to two different places!!
Inbal needs total refurbishment - it's dated.
Five star prices but three star service and quality. My husband and I are bringing a group of over 20 people in October but we are now looking at david citadel. It's such a shame as there is a lovely warm atmosphere at the hotel and its in great location.
