“A shabbos at the Kings Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

The prima Kings is in one of the best locations in Jerusalem. It is in walking distance from many shuls, restaurants, and shops. We went for a wedding and the venue was at the David Citadel Hotel. A short distance from the KIngs. Pres Obama was in town and we nearly missed the ceremony because of the road closure but we got to see his motorcade a few times.
The hotel it self is well equipped with all that you need. A clean bathroom, a comfortable bed and great cushions, a flat screen tv and a desk and 2 chairs in the room. The room was clean and ready for Pesach and the breakfast was pesachdig too. An ample good breakfast.
The rooms are small and a bit shabby, with the furniture scuffed and showing their years. The hotel is tired and needs some modernization but is well within a 3 star range that it is.
The staff are exceptional nice and helpful and I guess we would stay there again. The surrounding hotels are very over priced and the Kings presents a more reasonable option. A good stay

I spent 5 nights with fellow pilgrims to the Holy Land. This hotel is in walking distance to the Jaffa Gate of the Old City of Jerusalem. the American consulate is on the same street. It offers both breakfast and dinner buffets. My room, on the 5th floor, faced the front of the hotel with a wonderful view of the busy corner and the hills in the distance.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the front of the hotel and as high as possible for the views of the hills in t...

My son's newly engaged partner just arrived at the hotel. I kindly requested to purchase a special gift for her, on her arrival at the hotel. The management insisted that the gift would be taken care of by them, and would not accept any payment for this special treatment to their honored guest. This is something very special in my book!

When entering the hotel at reception you are greeted by friendly staff. The lobby is large and in the evening there is lovely live piano music. The furniture in the lobby is a little worn but functional. There is free wireless Internet in the lobby which is a plus as they charge for Internet access in your room. The hotel rooms are nicely appointed, decorated and was relatively clean. When I got to my room I was pleasantly surprised that I was upgraded from a standard single room to a deluxe double with a balcony. The beds are very comfortable, especially if you like a firmer mattress. In the morning at breakfast you will be enticed by the smell of coffee coming from the dinning room. The Prima Kings breakfast isn't as elaborate as other establishments that I have stayed in Israel but still offers an assortment cheeses, fish, breads and spreads as well as many hot dishes such as potatoes, burekas and quiches. Of course there is also available made to order omelets for you to enjoy and the assortment of fresh vegetables goes on forever. When you are done breakfast you walk out your door and you are steps away from the old city and the popular Ben Yehuda street. There are also great restaurants surrounding the hotel. Overall a great place to stay!

Stayed here for 4 nights and could not have been happier. Room was clean and decent sized as was the bathroom. Fridge in the room was nice touch. Walking distance to the Old City.Breakfast had a nice variety of fresh food (and yummy halvah).Free internet in the comfy lobby was great for taking care of business while on vacation.

In many ways the Prima Kings Hotel is a very nice property. It is centrally located within walking distance of the Old City and the Western Wall, among other things. I stayed in this hotel for five nights as a member of a tour group. Most members of my group had quite spacious rooms. Some even had outside balconies and decent views of the city. My room, however left a lot to be desired. As implied by the title of this review, the room was SMALL. I shared it with another memeber of my tour group and if he was sitting on the side of his bed--only one straight-backed chair in the room--I had to ask him to move so that I could get to the door to the bathroom. Once luggage was unpacked there was even less space. One literally had to walk sideways to move between the beds and the desk/dresser. Oh yes, then there was the view. We had a nice view of the roof of a lower part of the building, as well as an alley. I certainly wouldn't avoid this hotel entirely, but don't let them give you room # 508 or any of the rooms in the same corner of the building on other floors. The buffet meals they served were adequate, but nothing to brag about.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on an upper floor with a balcony. I'd even ask to see the room before taking it.

Stayed a Kings for 5 nights in February 2013. I asked for a room on the front of the hotel on the 3rd floor or higher with a balcony. Room was small as expected but then again you are spending most of your time running around so who cares how small the rooms are. Large enough for 2 people and acceptable beds. They never spend much money on high quality beds. The Israeli breakfast you hear about does not exist at the Kings. There are lots to choose from but nothing compared to the other hotels in the vicinity. The lobby is very small and again as a staging area its great and a good buy. The Kings is right next to the Great synagogue and a close walk location from the Western Wall. For Friday night walking back from the Western Wall it took about 35 minutes with a brisk walk. Walking from the Kings past the Great Synagogue and making the first left you are now in Rechavia and there are many great restaurants there as well as around the corner from the Kings. The Mamila mall is a 10 minute walk. Parking for the hotel is OK, but it is not a good idea to drive for locations purely in Jerusalem as traffic is very heavy. We had a GPS and because of a lot of construction it was inaccurate. Despite tyhe cold weather the rooms had sufficient heating.

Room Tip: Ask for room in front of building on Rambam Street only and with a porch. Try for higher rooms to av...
