“Far from a butique hotel .... close to a hostel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2009

We planned to stay in this hotel for 3 days, but left after one day. Location is ok and from outside the house is beautiful with a very nice facade. Inside hotel and rooms are terrible and dirty. Breakfast was bellow any breakfast we had in other hotels in Israel. “Restaurant” is located in a covered terrace plenty of old tables/chairs. For extra $20- we moved to a 4 star hotel nearby. This hotel is overpriced and far away of being a boutique hotel. It is just a plain hostel.

Stayed at hotel for 4 nights. My husband's wifi didn't work and they arranged for a technician to come and fix it, no cost. Rooms fine, flat screen tv, high ceilings, renovated bathroom with great hot water and pressure. Dinner at Polly's excellent, very accomodating. Great location to restaurants in German Colony, easy cab access elsewhere and parking on street easy. Carpet could use updating. Good value for price

We stayed at Little House in Bakah at the suggestion of friends who live in the neighborhood. The location was perfect -- easy and convenient to get almost anywhere, and parking on the street for our rental car was never a problem. While the rooms were basic and maybe a bit run down, they were extremely clean and the bathroom was spotless. (We had two rooms.) Breakfast was easy and accommodating of our young kids, highlighting how family friendly the place is. But the real value was the amazing quality of the service. The guys at the front desk couldn't do enough for us. They printed out driving directions for wherever we were going and offered invaluable advice at every turn. We would go back for the friendly, super service alone.

The little house is a home away from home, a little haven of good service with a smile in the midst of the busy noisy often rude streets of Israel. The rooms are airy, bright and inviting, not too posh or alienating but far from shabby, the service is friendly and with a warm family feel.
Polly, the little cafe downstairs is a joy in summer with its covered courtyard a little slice of quietude amidst the noise.

This almost qualifies as a real gem. The rooms are VERY small. However, the price is teriffic for Jerusalem. There is free wi-fi. The price includes breakfast at the dairy restaurant next door. It was the smallest , sparsest breakfast we had in Israel. However, the place is clean, the staff is as friendly as one could want, including allowing use of their personal cell phones for our calls, and the location, near the German Colony, perfect--if you want to stay in that area. We werer on the main floor, so there was no problem, but I think it does not have an elevator.

Nice small hotel, 3 star rating, clean, pleasant environment. Rooms with high ceilings, renovated baths and nice furniture. Comfortable full size bed, rooms daily cleaned and freshly kept up. Polly Restaurant attached to hotel, great kosher italian food. We had a wonderful dinner, menu for two, wine, entree, dessert....excellent. Breakfasts in the morning came with room and were excellent. They even packed a breakfast for us upon our last day early departure for the airport. Inexpensive Sherut setup for us by hotel desk staff made our departure and transportation to the airport so affordable and easy. Thanks to the great staff at the Bakah...will return again

I was booked for10 days at this hotel, but checked out after 2 nights. I would not recommend this to anyone, as there are much higher quality hotels for the same price. The location is poor, the room we had was a family suite, which evidently was over the kitchen so it smelled like Luigi's Pizza Parlor at dinnertime. My clothes still have a slight tinge of garlic smell to them. The beds were horrible. Upon check in I checked the windows for security because we were on the ground level. I discovered that the window locks didn't operate property and had to have hotel staff (the kid at the check-in desk) to try to fix it. this went on 3 times.

I had enough and checked in to the Dan Boutique just down the street. This is a hotel !and compared to the Little House In Baka, it is a 5 star hotel.

Don't let the Baka website fool you, they evidently had quite the professional take their photos. The hotel is nothing more than a glorified hotel!

Don't stay at this "hotel"! unless everything else in Jerusalem is full.
