I think this is a terrific place. Great location, lots of variety of restaurants and gift shops two minutes away, and even a pharmacy.
Transport outside the door, taxis and buses readily available.
Walking distance to Emek shopping centre, and a new walking path along the renovated train tracks.
Tea, coffee and drinking water in the lobby.
The restaurant attached to the place is dairy and has a good Hechsher - Minhadrin.

Room Tip: I chose a room on the ground level as this was easier for me to carry my luggage. Avi, the manager...

This is really a place to feel at home: no concrete building, but a nice, convenient house. It’s not only foreigners staying there, but also Israelis. My single room was very quiet, it had a relatively spacious bathroom and was cleaned every day. On the first floor there are a guest computer and some easy chairs; outside there is a garden, where you can have a drink (coffee/tea/ water free).

Room Tip: There are good bus connections to the city center (take the Arab bus or taxi at Sabbath), which is...

We stayed here in 2010, and were so happy, we returned for two more stays in spring 2013. We could not have asked for anything better. Rooms are simple but immaculately clean, and staff will always go beyond their call of duty to help you. The setting is really tranquil. It is in a quiet neighborhood where a lot of really nice people walk the streets, and you always feel at home and wish you could live there. Staying at LHIB makes you feel like part of the community here with good neighbors.

I personally prefer to the economy rooms for one person, even though we have two people in them, because they have bathtubs, and the economy rooms for two people have showers. That is just my taste.

A few years ago, there was a breakfast buffet provided to all guests at the adjacent Polly restaurant. This time, the system was changed and guests get a voucher for an item on Polly's breakfast menu. I found advantages to both ways. In either case, it is a delicious first class breakfast. One time, when we missed breakfast, we were allowed to use the vouchers for lunch at a nearby bagel shop instead.

During our most recent stay, we had an unexpected medical emergency. The staff and even some guests were there to help assist in the emergency, providing first aid and assisting in getting to the hospital. Even after this, everyone continued to express concern.

We are hoping to come back to Jerusalem many more times in the future, and we will have no trouble deciding where to stay. There is one catch: LHIB is so good and so popular that if you don't book early enough, you may not be able to get your preferred room.

A very pleasant stay on a short visit to attend a wedding. When I arrived, check in was friendly and courteous. I arrived in the evening and had an excellent meal in the restaurant. My room was serviced every day by the housekeeping staff. There is a refrigerator available for the use of guests, so any provisions purchased can be kept nice and fresh. Also, there is a constant supply of hot and cold water in the lobby area, as well as tea and coffee. All in all, Little House in Bakah is the perfect alternative to larger and impersonal hotels.

Room Tip: I chose a "basement" room on an economy rate. It is not underground. There is a window to...

We spent 4 nights here, and felt very comfortable. We would recommend this hotel to family and friends, and if we ever get back to Jerusalem - we will definitely stay there again. Our room was clean, with crisp white sheets, a good mattress and a pretty decor. The rate was reasonable - especially factoring in the breakfast that is included. The breakfasts were delicious (huge!) and healthy Israeli foods. The staff was extremely helpful in giving us directions, getting taxis for us, offering suggestions for buses, arranging a separate tour to Masada, and being very pleasant. The neighborhood is a charming residential area, with shops and restaurants close by (try the Grand Cafe on Beit Lechem). We were also able to walk to 2 different synagogues on Shabbes (and many others were close by), and walked / short bus ride to the Old City. Thanks for a great stay! Dan and Ellen in Pittsburgh
