“Enjoyable stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2014

We have just returned from a two night stay at this hotel which has a wonderfully central location in Jerusalem.

Luckily we received an updated room on the 8th floor which was comfortable and quite large. The pool is on the same floor and was an absolute must because of the exceptional heatwave. The view from the pool area is amazing.

We received the usual outstanding Israeli breakfast and also ate once in the lobby. Surprising the prices in the hotel were no more than those in the city restaurants and the food was very tasty. Location is excellent especially for tourists new to the city.

We enjoyed the hotel but undoubtedly were most impressed by the staff, who are outstanding by any standard. Everyone we met was helpful and courteous and went out of their way to help.

This Hotel is like Heaven and Hell. If you book make sure to specify that you only want to stay in the new wing. The old wing is dated and reminds me of a ramada inn from the 80's. It is stuffy and the furniture is beyond worn (including the mattress). The new wing on the other hand is fresh and 5 star quality. Breakfast is good and the location is great. Concierge was excellent especially a young lady by the name of Alex. If you can try to get a room also facing away from the main street as it is loud. None of he rooms seem to have a great view of the old city but at the end of he day in a place like Jerusalem all you can do is fall into your bed. Head to the mount of Olives for sunset if you want a wonderful view.

Room Tip: specify new wing. the old wing is terrible.

The hotel was a bit dated although it appeared some wings had been updated. The pool was small but lovely and the view was priceless. Lobby was fair.. Breakfast was outstanding. Location was great as it was close to the old city if you need to talk there on the sabbath. I will say everything in Jerusalem was expensive and this hotel was no exception. Room was small but very clean and staff was very good.

We stayed at the Dan Panorama in Jerusalem from June 19-June 26, 2014. We had requested the Executive room which is the tier that includes access to the Dan Club Lounge. We had requested the room because the hotel said that it had been renovated. We were very disappointed with the room. It was so tiny that it was hard for two people to walk around in the room. The bathroom was so small two people could not be in there together. We were in Jerusalem for a wedding and others in our group had other rooms that were less expensive , but were twice the size of our room.

The Cub room was delightful and a wonderful place to meet with friends and family. Ibrahim Abu Alhawa wa taking care of the room most of the time. He is wonderful and greets everyone coming into the room and makes every feel comfortable and welcome. What a great man.
If you are going to the Dan Panorama Jerusalem, make sure that you insist to the larger room in the new area and you will have a wonderful experience.

All of the staff was excellent and ready to help. The front desk was always ready to help with dinner reservations as well as touring ideas.

Room Tip: Make sure that you get the newer rooms! The older part of the hotel's rooms are tiny and not com...

We checked in to this hotel and were given a room we were not happy with. It was old and musty. We spoke to the front desk and they said nothing else was available. I was aware that they were redoing the hotel and we got an old room. We stayed the night and was at breakfast the next day. The hotel in all the cities has personnel that come around in the dining room asking how your stay was. We had a lovely woman ask at breakfast and in a half hour we were in a new and beautiful room. There are 2 sets of elevators in the hotel and it seems one goes to the new rooms and one to the old rooms new room great. Breakfast fantastic front desk helpful with restaurants directions etc once we were settled loved the place we didn't use the pool but it needs to be redone as well

This hotel is in a good location. Our room was large, comfortable and clean. The breakfast had a large and varied selection of food. The only shortcoming was the coffee service. It was difficult to find a coffee pot or flag down a server. Our room was an Executive Room, which gave us access to the business lounge on the 9th floor. And it was there we had some of our most enjoyable times. We sat on the terrace there sipping wine on lovely Jerusalem nights and talking with Ibrahim, the lounge host. He was remarkable. He spent his day off with us, taking us to his favorite shewarma restaurant, showing us the sights of East Jerusalem, and guiding us through the Old City. We even went to the rooftop of the Old City. Our splendid afternoon with Ibrahim ended with coffee brewed for us by his nephew. It truly was a highlight of our trip. Thank you, Ibrahim! You are a wonderful ambassador for not only the Dan Panorama but your beautiful city as well.

Room Tip: Definitely book a room with business lounge access. It was worth every penny, and really wasn't...

This is a very good choice for visiting Jerusalem. It's close to the Old City, shopping, cafes, parks, and near the King David hotel. Great and plentiful breakfast, solid service, nice interior, rooms OK, too. Flat screen tv, hairdryer, safe, modern bathroom. Smaller outdoor pool but nice 8th floor view. Busy area of the city but not crazy, and you can stroll residential neighborhoods, too.
