“No body could give better service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

This is a lovely hotel located in the center of Jerusalem, close to all major places - new city center, Mamila Mall, Yamin Moshe, Bell Parl and many many more. Waking up in this amazing city and taking a lovely walk in the morning to Yamin Moshe to see the windmill after the walk having the best buffet breakfast one can think of - best cheeses, salads, fish, omelets, pancakes, pastries everyday I would get something else - I think I gained 5 kilo in the few days I stayed at the hotel.

Now the service I asked for so many things nothing went wrong - tours around the city, restaurants, wake up calls.

All in all I had the best trip in five years and I have much to thank the staff of the Dan Panorama Jerusalem.

Room Tip: Executive floor with the lounge.

For the money, we were pretty dissatisfied with our 6-night stay here.
Rooms: Nice amount of space in the regular rooms. Don't understand why we couldn't get two double beds instead of a king. If you have a 3rd person in the room like we did, definitely ask for the extra bed instead of the roll-out chair/bed. The king bed was very uncomfortable for my mom who has a bad back. Housekeeping does NOT do a good enough job of cleaning rooms, replenishing room items.

Meals: The Breakfast was very good, but the waiter service is horrible.

Front Desk: When disputing a small charge on our bill when checking out, the front desk would not budge. They treated us very rudely and even ignored our pleas. Such a bad experience that we will most probably never step foot in that hotel again. Unbelievable chutzpah.

The rooms were generally great, if a bit small. Would have given five stars if the bathrooms were slightly better as they seemed in need of a bit of a touch up. Great location close to major streets and walking distance to the Old City if it's not too hot, but still surprisingly calm. Lobby is nice and breakfast good. Pool on the roof has great views, but they should keep it open or at least let people hang out there past 7 in the summer!

I would have given a 4 or 5 star review but for the wi fi problem I will describe below. We stayed 6 nights. The hotel was very nice. The location was excellent and the breakfast was good. The hotel provides free wi fi in the lobby. They also offer wi fi in the room for 70 shekels (approx $17) for each 24 hour period. We decided that we wanted to pay for the room wi fi. I walked down to the front desk and told the clerk to sign us up. We did not receive any explanation as to any limitations on usage. After returning to the room, my wife used wireless on her ipad. I then tried to log on and discovered I could not. My wife called the front desk and was informed the 70 shekel internet only applied to one device. We tried to cancel and were informed they would only refund 35 shekels even though less than an hour had passed. My wife asked to speak to a manager. The decision remained the same. It was explained that the hotel uses an outside vendor so they could not refund the whole amount. I could understand that position if the hotel had explained that the internet only applied to one device. It was their job to give the explanation. When they failed to give that explanation, they needed to refund the full 70 shekels. We never would have signed up for the in room internet if this had been explained. On my next trip to Jerusalem I do not plan to return to the Dan Panorama Jerusalem.

My family stayed 8 days at the Dan Panorama in Jerusalem and found it to be an ideal location for the Old City (only 10 mins walk) and also for restaurants. The hotel itself is of a high standard and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. We stayed in a family room which was a good size although we found the bathroom to be quite small. Good facilities - car parking, air conditioning, tv, hairdryer, room safe, tea/cofffee with kettle, fridge, complimentary water and chocolates, telephone, regular maid service and change of towels, use of the swimming pool until 7pm including Sabbathand free wi-fi in the lobby. The breakfast buffet catered for a wide variety of tastes although we cannot comment on the evening meal as we were out on trips every day so ate out. We would certainly stay there again in the future.

Room Tip: We requested a high floor with views overlooking the old city. We were on floor 8 which is the same...

This hotel was a let down as we were expecting something much better for the price. The pros: the location is very good as you are walking distance from the old city. The lobby is nice and the breakfast buffet is extensive. Cons: the rooms and hallways are drab and dated and could definitely use an upgrade. Our room could only be described as sad-lokking and we had no view at all. Front desk staff was ok but not overly eager to help.

This year, we stayed at the Dan P twice- each time for two weeks. For us, the Dan P is our Jerusalem home, the place where we feel most welcome. Most recently, we were there for two weeks in July (2012).

There is a new chef at the hotel, and he has turned the dining room into a work of art. His use of colors and textures are very enticing. The food is excellent. The entire buffet reflects his artistry.

As we mentioned in our Feb. review, the dining room is now a place where the dining staff talks to guests and interacts with them on a level not previously seen. In addition, members of the hotel executive staff are seen in the dining room every day. They, too, stop and talk to guests. Special kudos to Mr Ihab Abdeen who is one of the dining room managers and who is responsible for the new atmosphere in that room.

Ms Natalie Shalom (Guest Relations) is in the dining room every day. Natalie is famous for her, "Tell me your name and I will remember it" line. And she is true to what she says.

The front end staff members are incredible. Led by the wonderful and amazing Mr. Isaam Habash, the desk crew are all friendly, outgoing, helpful and caring. Nothing seems beyond their ability to help.

Our grandchildren who live in Israel, visited us in the hotel almost every day. At one point, it was obvious that the staff treated them like their own little ones.

We will not stay at any other hotel!
