“Nice visit to Jerusalem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2012

I stayed at the Jerusalem Leonardo Plaza (formerly the Sheraton Plaza). The Hotel is in an excellent location - close to shopping, the Great Synagogue, and many other interests. The Kotel (Western Wall) is around a 5-7 minute taxi ride away. I had stayed here a few years ago when it was a Sheraton property and found the current staff very helpful and friendly. I recognized quite a few staff members from the Sheraton days. The one issue I had at checkout was immediately rectified by management. I had an enjoyable stay and I would gladly come back here again.

Make sure you get a renovated room on the higher floors. We requested them but our teenage daughter checked in before we did and they gave her rooms on the 7th floor the bathrooms had mould. The view from the 7 th for down is blocked by an unsightly building
Nice location on a park with no traffic noise. We saved thousands by staying here instead of the king David. But would stay at KD next time or an apartment. We knew we would be hardly using the room so it was worth it.

Room Tip: Renovated rooms were on high Floors in 2011

I have stayed at this hotel many different times. The location is outstanding. Close to the old city of Jerusalem and close to the new city of Jerusalem. The staff is unchanged. Same people at the front desk and in the restaurant. Great breakfast every morning. Much is unchanged since it first opened, the lobby is unchanged, the rooms are unchanged the bathrooms are unchanged. The hotel is clean but desperately needs a makeover.
Front desk staff, only one person on duty at times so you need to be patient with check in and requests. This is not the King David or the Inbal.
They have a business center for a daily charge, with computers and internet. They also have wi fi for Leonardo members, one hour per day bring your own computer. I find Microsoft works better the Apple.
If you need a place to sleep and eat while visiting Jerusalem good choice. If you are looking for a luxury to spend some time in the lobby and room look elsewhere.

Room Tip: Ask for room on higher seem to be in better shape. Away from elevator.

Would not recommend this place. They seem to cater primarily to Jewish clients. All through Israel I had experienced outstanding breakfast spreads but this one was terrible. Service was not too good and the internet service was nearly unuseable. Go somewhere else!!

Initial impressions of this hotel, situated not far from the walls of the old city, were good. It looked modern and the reception artea was exceptionally well presented.
The first room carried singler beds whereas we had ordered a double. The hotel had no troubles in relocating us on the 12th floor but we did not realise that the room was next to one of the tree elevator shafts! For most of the night we could hear the elevator going up and down.Apart from that the room was well presentedand the beds comfortable.

Breakfast was quite acceptable but we found the evening meals restrictive in what we would call attractive, and given we were in a very good hotel the prices were simply expensive for what was on offer.

On the bright side the reception area had no problems in directing us to a street just 1/2/ -1 KM away which was lined with small restaurants and cafes. These were perfect for what we wanted.

Were it not for the elevotor noise I would have rated this hotel higher, perhaps very good.

Room Tip: Avoid any rooms adjoining an elevator shaft.

We have just returned from a family weekend in Jerusalem. stayed at the Leonardo and enjoyed it very much. Great food, friendly staff and special thanks to the lovely guest relation manager for offering the Shabath morning walk to the old city !

Room Tip: South side for the best view
