“The King David ranks with the best world hotels.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2009

This was our second time staying at the King David in Jerusalem. Service was impeccable and friendly, room grand with a great view of the old city. Israeli buffet breakfasts are legendary, the King Davids was even better and table service (which is often lax at buffets) was quick and professional.

I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years. Every time I come back, it is always a pleasure. This stay, I was upgraded to a garden terrace room, which was heavenly. The staff at the front desk are always welcoming and accommodating. The Staff in the dining room really know how to make you feel at home. And the "King David breakfast" which is included in the room rate, is the best breakfast I have ever had anywhere in the world. The La Regence restaurant in the King David is probably the best restaurant in all of Jerusalem. As a plus, you can eat in this fine restaurant using dan points.

We satyed at the king David , this hotel must have been in the 70 and 80 vey beautifull, but it is updated...rooms need to be renovated, still the old box TV....and the prices are way way too xpensive...500 dollars the night..,the standart room....even in New York and Miami, prices are lower for a 5 stars hotel....

Dear TripAdvisor member,

Thank you for acknowledging the advantage of our location and the house-keeping performance.
We also appreciate your remarks, although some of them need clarification.

The hotel's rooms underwent major renovations and refurbishment in 1997. All the hotel rooms are equipped with flat plasma TV sets.

Furthermore, the upper floors will be fully reconstructed and transformed into executive section, already next year. The King David is famous for its splendid garden and swimming pool – fully reconstructed this year. We've also entirely refurbished our Business Center and Fitness Center which has been equipped with the advanced "techno gym" appliances as well as a spacious Finnish sauna.

As for the prices, they are season oriented and reflect the market. As a matter of fact, our occupancy level is one of the highest in Jerusalem.

In conclusion, we would be delighted to welcome you at the King David again in the future and show you its real face.

We were on a tour in Israel and were in Jerusalem for the last four nights of the vacation. We were so happy that we chose to stay at the King David. The hotel was so beautiful and so charming and the staff treated us like royalty. The front desk were so helpful and kind and the concierge desk were just incredible. They made us feel like nothing was any trouble and always wanted to make sure that they couldn't do even more for us. The location was fabulous- we were central to restaurants, shopping, sights and so much more.
When we tried to use the computer in the business center to email home the gentleman there was so helpful in showing us how to use it and just couldn't have been any more kinder if he would have tried.
Great pool and restaurant.
Each day when we came back to the room there was always a little dessert waiting for us that had been sent with the hotels compliments that we thought was a very nice touch.
Each and every morning we couldn't wait to get to the tasty buffet breakfast where yet again the staff would be waiting to help on us like royalty and just couldn't do enough.
The only thing that we didn't like was the bathroom- a little too small.
If we were to go back to Jerusalem we wouldn't even consider staying at any other hotel. The King David is by far the best hotel we have ever stayed in.

Guests from all over the world -- Europe and US tourists mostly.
Are helpful setting up tours. Safety needs are met when traveleing throughout the country.
Gourmet food (the desserts -- chocolate mouse wonderful), beautiful jewelry.

Having stayed at the King David many times in the last 10 years, for us the King David is without doubt the finest hotel in Jerusalem. From the warmth of the welcome we receive to the friendliness of the staff, from the ambiance and comfort of the bedrooms to the fabulous new pool area and the magnificent gardens and terrace, the King David is unmatchable. For a trip to Jerusalem, we would not consider ever staying anywhere else.
