“Fabulous stay ! Highly recommended”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2013 via mobile

My family of ten just spent 3 days at the hotel and we also hosted a private party for 20 people in the king David room .it was all perfect . Our room was the citadel suite - it's spectacular .i don't think there is a nicer room with a better view in Jerusalem . Spotlessly clean Food and service were great . 5 stars for sure

Other travellers have commented that they will only stay at this hotel in Jerusalem. I can see the appeal - it has character, style and excellent staff. I think it is probably average value for money on balance, but make sure you get the breakfast if you can also stomach the $28 USD (£17) price tag. It is an unbelievable selection of foods, and can really set you up for your big day ahead!

Also excellent in this hotel is the addition of the Turkish Hamam and fitness centre. They are free to use, and although the Jacuzzi is a bit small, you can sit with your cup of tea and look up at the Old City Walls whilst you soak - a nice touch indeed!

I checked in for the last 2 nights of my holiday after a terrible experience at the Eldan Hotel (review available), and I had high hopes for this place. On entering the room, I felt like it didn't matter that I had missed the 1970s, because here it was, back to adorn my bathroom. I was generously given a 'family room' with what looked like a super-king bed...but wait...what's that on the bed? A baby cockroach? I don't remember ordering livestock in my room, and if this is a baby, mummy and daddy are probably not far behind.

A COCKROACH?! Unbelievable...

I called to ask for a new room, because who's going to stay in a bed with insects in it? They seemed to think I would accept the housemaid coming to investigate, over and above a new room - after the inevitable stand-off, I was given a new room. Sadly this second room had a twin mattress arrangement, which was annoying as I like doubles. But as least it was bug-free - I knew it would be because the massive spider near the bed would have eaten them all...

So aside from the 'back to nature' feel of this hotel with the creatures everywhere, I didn't mind it so much. They haven't caught up with the 21st Century yet with regard to WiFi - free in the lobby and charged in the rooms (although my 2nd room did receive the free lobby WiFi) - and they could do with being slightly cheaper (particularly at breakfast!).

Overall, I don't think I would stay here again because of the bugs alone, It's only a short walk from the Old City, but they do have parking of a sort (public parking is opposite) and the staff were great.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review which we found both warm and fair. Although we appreciate your British humour we cannot take lightly the fact that there were insects in both rooms and we apologise most sincerely. Please be assured that it is not the norm. Further, we wish to remind you that, although most unpleasant, cockroaches do not reflect the standard of cleanliness of their surroundings and, as in the case of the Mount Zion, although we do our best to try and manage the situation, we have gardens from where insects sometimes wander into the hotel. Although you say that because of the insects you will most likely not return, we hope you will reconsider and stay with us when next in Jerusalem.

Mount Zion is the best place to stay in Jerusalem. The location is amazing and you can see the old City from the panoramic lobby and from all the rooms. The old City (Jaffa Gate) is just 10 minutes walking from here. The service was very good and the receptionists very helpful. The rooms are elegant and in perfect arabian style… but, nothing special. The breakfast hall is nice and with a wide the choice of food, but average.

People are friendly. Location is central, nice because not in the main hotel street, so a little secluded, which is nice. A diverse clientele, pilgrims and business people and tourists.
It far particularly magnificent views.
Breakfasts are one of the best in hotels in Israel.meat outside!
This is a gem of a hotel. Thus is a fund

Room Tip: Rooms are great. Be sure to ask for a room with view of old city.

Our experience in Jeruzalem was unforgetable and magic for many and different things.
One of them was the professional and kindless atenttion in the Mount Zion, with the perfect location and view the Old City. Thank you very much.

The hotel is beatifull and full of atmosphere. location is great close to the old city (Jaffa Gate) and to other attractions. there is an interesting small historical museum within the hotel.
The service was excellent, everything was done with a smile and with good intentions.
Overall - great experience!

My favorite hotel in Jerusalem and I go frequently! I love the authentic feel, the beautiful antiques, fascinating corners, exceptional view, and great food. It is not like all the other cookie cutter hotels which could be anywhere. there is also a wonderful museum right in the hotel. It is an undiscovered secret bonus! The spa/hamam is also great fun and authentic. One criticism is that the exercise room should open earlier.

Room Tip: Ask for Old City view.
