“Nice Stay in Jerusalem!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

Stayed at this hotel with a big big group and they were so great to us. The rooms were nice and big and all of them had a nice balcony. We also spent some time at the pool which was really fun! We drove around on a bus so I'm not sure the location is ideal for the sights of the city, but it was a nice quiet area near a beautiful park. Definitely had a lot of fun at this beautiful hotel!

Stayed there 1 night. Friday afternoon to Saturday afternoon.
Meals are nice though it's a problem on Saturdays (i.e. Friday evenings to Saturday night) since they don't cook but keep cooked food warm the whole day. Breakfast is OK and so are lunch and dinner - but there's nothing special that worth mentioning.
Location - if you have a car - you'll need to use it as the hotel located some 3 kilometer from the city center, especially on Saturdays when there's no public transport in Jerusalem.
Parking - 35 NIS for the first day, then 20 NIS for every extra day (that is, if there is an available parking spot in the hotel parking area).
Pool - semi Olympic (25 meters long). roofed - i.e. heated in winter. The roof is "motored" and they open it during the days in the summer (see photo). I thought there was too much chlorine in the water. DON"T FORGET YOUR GOGELS AT HOME...
Gym - though I didn't use it - looks nice.
Rooms - average size. Old TV... Bathroom - size is very nice. looks old but has everything you need.
Bed - we found it comfortable.
View: we stayed on the 8th floor, with a view to the south, looking at the Government buildings.. Try asking for a room, not below 8th floor, with a view to the east.
Noise - our room was located not far from the elevators thus suffered from noises of kids etc...
Elevators - there are 4 of them. On Saturdays 1 elevator is a "Shabbat Elevator" i.e. automatic one that stops on every floor - don't use it... TIP: when it's very busy use one of the 3 staff/service elevators (located behind the "staff only" door on every floor...).

Room Tip: When elevetors are very busy use one of the 3 staff/service elevators (located behind the "staf...

I saw pictures of this hotel in a 1994 Israeli movie when it was the Jerusalem Hilton. Apart from new TVs, new beds and a new name, the owners of this hotel do not appear to have spent a cent on this hotel in the ensuing 20 years. This hotel is tired and drab and in desperate need of a refurbishment. The signs of 20 years of usage were to be found all over the room that I was in. The towels in the bathrooms were hideous. I have seen better in a youth hostel. As for the claims of some reviewers that there is something special about their breakfasts, I have been to a number of hotels in Israel, and I would rate the Jerusalem Crowne Plaza as being amongst the most mediocre. If you are attending a function at the nearby Convention Centre, its location is convenient. Otherwise there is little to recommend this hotel.

Stayed at this hotel over the last weekend. Room was small and not very modern- far too expensive for what you get. No free parking. My 6 year old daughter burnt her hand when getting cereal for breakfast- the cereal buffet was placed on a hot plate!!! We complained to the head waiter who apologized and cordoned off the area immediately and complained again when checking out. We were offered no compensation. Who puts the cereal buffet on a hot plate!!!!! pure negligence.

They have this one big rectangular HOT food island, but the plates are cold. I remember twice getting these nice hot string beans, putting butter on them and then leaving them on my plate as the butter did not melt. If they would just convert ONE or TWO spots on their hot food island to serve HOT, WARM PLATES! This problem is so common. I can't imagine a place as nice as Crowne Plaza that they are not smarter!

Room Tip: If you like your food hot, go someplace else unless they fix this inconsiderate problem.

Hotel is always very busy with most rooms sold out. Initially receive two double beds but was upgraded to a king. Room views were outstanding and very clean. Breakfast buffet was probably the best from all the hotels I stayed at in Israel. Staff was very accommodating and management very assisting.
