“Best restaurant meal I had in Israel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013 via mobile

If you go to the market in Jerusalem, you must eat here. Great ambiance right off the market and some of the best Israeli food I had. The food is amaaazing and reasonably priced. It was a little challenging to find, but just keep asking the vendors if you're having trouble. Next to a place where tons of older men were playing backgammon in the afternoon. Sit outside!

“Authentic Jerusalem market restaurant ! The Food is sooooo tasty!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013 via mobile

Been there on Friday for lunch. Had to wait in line. It was worth it cause they cook the food on oil burner and make great humus. We tried meat ball humus and vegetarian stuffed onions and again the headline is it was soooooo tasty! The restaurant is located in the market which adds to the atmosphere!

“Consistently tops”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

We've been to Azura several times and on each occasion the food was exceptionally tasty and authentic. Just turn down a little alley off a Main Street in the market and you will run right into it. They have recently added a second Azura, just across the square but with the identical food. There is lots of outdoor seating. A must for anyone visiting Jerusalem!

“Unusual and outstanding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

It is hard to add to the descriptions of other reviewers since they have captured the uniqueness of the food in this Kurdish/Jewish restaurant. The inside of the restaurant is very small and totally unadorned. One would never guess that it was the site of one of the best lunches one will ever have. The food is unusual, varied, and uniformly excellent. The service is also excellent. Ideally you go with a couple of other people to sample and savor multiple dishes.

Anyone who cares about food and is adventurous ought to enjoy this restaurant and experience. We wish we could go back but unfortunately discovered it on our last day in Jerusalem.

“Shuk bites tasting tour was great”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

What a terrific way to tour the market! We went a bit early, so had to wait for some of the places to open, but we enjoyed each and very vendor. Everyone was very nice and explained their products to us. At the cheese stop, I recommend asking for the local cheese --they have an amazing global selection, but we can get that in NY. They were happy to oblige. They only thing missing on the tour was the wonderful Halva stand -- the proprietor was more than happy to offer tastes of everything in any case! It was our first Halva and, as we later found, the best... Could use a bit better marking for the non-Hebrew reader, but finding the vendors was part of the fun!
