Nice private house in a quite place near the metro station. Rooms are not big very but cosy. There is refrigerator, pot, tv, a/c etc. A lot of different things on breakfast which is set even if you are alone in the house. Nice open terrace. There are a lot of places for free parking. The owner is a very nice American, who helped us to find interesting places to visit and answered for planty of our questions, very helpful.

Room Tip: There is an amazing room with a great view on the city for a big company. (there are 2 floors)

House 57 is at best a hostel for students. We were a family of four having booked two rooms 5 months ahead of arrival, looking forward to some sociable and affordable overnight stays at this guesthouse. When we arrived the owner had forgotten about the second bedroom although we had the email confirmation. We were put in a tiny bedroom at first level and a fourth bed were put in. This last bed almost collapsed and all bed sheets were at a very low quality level, not even covering the mattresses. When we at last understood that the strange smell from the tiny bathroom were urine, we decided to move out at 11 o'clock PM and find a new hotel. We are happy the owner never charged us anything.

i used a room below the roof, so we had a very nice view of the Jerusalem.
It was awesome watching a sunset.

And the breakfast was great. really great.

All of the service was good, atmosphere was also comfortable.
Nirr helped us enjoy the city and made our trip pleased.

If I have a chance to go Jerusalem, I wish to stay there again.

Thanks, Nirr.

Nir was a big part of our fantastic Jerusalem experience. We have Trip Advisor to thank for alerting us to this great find! The house is not fancy but just unique, comfortable, welcoming, and special. Our kids LOVED room 7's loft and we loved the space, new bed, and view from the balcony. The buffet was also nothing fancy but more than sufficient, and chatting with other guests as well as Nir and Akram was a big bonus. We got great advice and directions from Nir, including an amaxing Old City guide. Not in the center of town, but easy accessibility via light rail two blocks away. Nir sent us to a great falafel place a few blocks away our first night. Supermarket down the block too. I would only recommend the loft for kids as the ceiling is low. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Room 7 for families

This is second time in a year that I stayed at House 57 in Jerusalem while visiting family. Once again Nir was a fabulous host, making our stay comfortable and convenient. The room was simple, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great, allowing us to go the whole day without a bite to eat until dinner time. We were also often joined by Nir for some warm conversation. This visit we walked the short walk (5-minutes) to the Jerusalem Light Rail station, and after that, we were hooked on this very comfortable public transport ride into town, or most anywhere else in Jerusalem. House57 is now that much closer to all of Jerusalem! I hope to return to House57 in 2013.

We found House 57 initially because it is only a block from my son and his family, but we go back because of the outstanding hospitality and cozy rooms. House 57 has been our base in Jerusalem at least four times, and while we miss Dani and Ilona, Nir is an excellent host. We felt as though he were a friend putting us up more than a businessman running a hotel.
We appreciate all that Akram does to keep House 57 functioning well. A request for the kind of pillows we like was filled immediately. Anything we wanted was provided with a smile.
Now that the light rail is finished, House 57 is only minutes from downtown, the Old City, and beyond. Bus service is also readily available. Oh, and Akram also has a taxi license, so he can drive you when you don't want to take public transportation.
We recommend House 57 to everyone we know who is going to Jerusalem! If you are contemplating a trip, you couldn't do better.

I have just returned from Israel and House 57 once again. I wish I knew how many times I have stayed House 57 but they are to numerous to count at this point. House 57 is located at 57 Midbar Sinai Street Jerusalem. It is close to the train, bus stops, and taxies will come to your door to pick you up. The rooms are always clean, spacious, and comfortable. The breakfast is both nutritious and plentiful with fruits, eggs, pita, vegetables, jams, fish, and salads. What can I say, it's delicious. Nir, his family and staff, are beyond comparison. In my last review I spoke only about the house, Nir and Akram, and how wonder the home is so enough about that. This time, I decided to write about the wonderful people that I have met from all parts of the world at House 57. It is not only the accommidations that are wonderful, it's really the people that you are able to meet, eat breakfast with, socialize with, and go out on adventures with that really make this bed and breakfast special. Each time that I have visited House 57, I have met people, made friends, went on tours with and enjoyed the night life with on many many occassions. I have truely met and made friends with people from all the four corners of the planet. I can't wait until my next trip in March 2013 at which time I again will return to House 57.

Room Tip: The room at the top of the stairs from the breakfast area has a wonderful view of Jerusalem. I pref...
