“Nice food, but a bit old school”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013

Me and my friend went to Cavalier during their business menu on a Friday. We ordered the roquefort salad and Foie Gras "Cavalier" for starters and for the main course Shrimps in a Copper Pan and Veal Filet in Peppercorn Sauce.
The salad was a great disappointment, it reminded me something that would be served in a coffee shop and not a very good one. The Foie Gras was really nice, though we couldn't finish it because of the great amount of butter that it contains.
The main courses were much better. The Shrimps were fresh and you could feel it in their flavors. The filet was done precisely as ordered, and the meat was full of flavors.
For the dessert we ordered Red fruit vachrin, despite the look it was amazing.
I think the main problem of this restaurant is that they have a bit old school perception about food and how it suppose to look and taste.

“Excellent French food in a classic atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013 via mobile

Cavalier is one of Jerusalem's oldest and best-loved restaurants. Owner/chef Didi Benaroush turns out consistently high-level classic gourmet dishes. Service is impeccable and the atmosphere is quiet and relaxed. Prices are in the high range but the experience is very good.

“excellent will be a little word for that restaurant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013

My favorite restaurant !!
since I know myself I eat there!
For me its the perfect restaurant combines fine dining with the best products in the country, the most professional service and the amazing chef who knows how to excite me every time.
When you enter to the restaurant, you feel like in France, the music, the design, food and service all create a French atmosphere
Recommends that anyone who comes to Jerusalem to eat there!!!!!!!

“Good flavors, overprices though”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

This is one of those fancy, design dishes kind of place, short, concise menu, with mostly veal, goose liver, some seafood and salads. The food was good, tasty and fresh but I think overpriced for what it is. There are other places close by with similarly good food at much lower cost (unless you are veal and goose liver lover) They do have an extensive wine menu. I think this is a good venue for business meetings and quiet, quasi romantic dinners.

“very good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2013

We found the Cavalier after leaving another restaurant because of having to wait too long for service.
As soon as we entered we were warmly greeted and sat down.
Service was immediate.
The food was excellent and enjoyable.
It is a nice place with a pleasant atmosphere.
The menu is creative.
It was a good experience an we will visit again in the future.
