“Great place for restoration of the flagging spirit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2014

With all the walking and pilgriming, it is so welcoming and lovely to visit the Austrian hospice after 10 in the morning to have a coffee or later for lunch. They really make you feel welcome and you can enjoy a respite in the garden over good coffee

“Europe and the middle east combined”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2014

I think that the Austrian Hospice is a unique place that demonstrates the variety of cultures and mixture of tastes, sounds, smells and spectacles of Jerusalem.
From the hectic noisy arab market you enter through a heavy wooden door and climb the stairs into a calm and relaxing green garden.
Classic music replaces the peddlers' loud and blatant voices of the market, and then, to complete the surreal experience you eat Apfel strudel mit sahne (apple pie with cream).

Wow - it is really something completely different. Try it !

“A serene and beautiful place in the old city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2014

This place used to be a hospital but converted to a hotel. Great place to stop at for an afternoon capuccino and an apple strudel or even a light meal. Very serene setting in the old city overlooking the Via de la Rosa (way of the Cross) walked by Jesus Christ 2000 years ago!

“Great Place to Stay in Old City”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2014

Convenient location. Tranquility. Computer & Wi-Fi availability. Nice cafeteria and grounds. Good room facilities, apart from the lack of a top bedsheet. Great view from roof. Helpful staff. Fairly good buffet breakfast.
