Babette used to be one of these places that people came to Jerusalem especially for. Think of it as the Soup Nazi of Waffles. People would line up outside this tiny joint at 11PM mid-week to get their tasty, crisp Waffles with unique home-made toppings (My reccomendations: Vanilla cream with hot choclate, Apple sauce with sour cream, cream and cinnamon, and of course Chestnuts).
However, the original founder of Babette has recently severed her ties with the place, having opened a Tel Aviv branch a couple of years ago. The quality of the Waffles and materials has been on decline ever since, in my opinion. It's still the best sweet treat in Jerusalem, but not as good as it used to.
