“Peaceful, quiet and clean.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

A very nice place to stay to visit the city. About 5 minutes by bus from the new and old city centers. Very king people at the hotel, smily and helpful. Nice breakfast. Room maybe a little bit old but very clean.

This was a wonderful stay. Eden Jerusalem Hotel is clean and neat. My bed and room was very comfortable, and the breakfast (included) was delicious. Most importantly, Lynn and the hotel staff are incredibly helpful, and there to answer any questions you might have about Jerusalem. It is located about 30 minutes (walking) south of the old city. If walking isn't your thing, the hotel staff can point you to the nearest bus station.

Will stay definitely stay here again when I'm back in Jerusalem!

Loved the quiet neighborhood. Sitting on the room's balcony in the shade of the surrounding trees was very pleasant morning or evening. Parking was on the street, but there were always spots available right in front of the hotel. The room seemed a bit worn but was very clean. Breakfast was good.

Most important, to me, about a place I stay is the quality of my sleep. As others have noted, it's in a residential area, so no traffic noise, and with the option to push two single beds together, meant a good night's sleep for me. The breakfast was also very good, very fresh and good variety. Our choice for staying further outside of Jerusalem was the exorbitant prices you pay closer to the old city. We chose to walk in one day, and cabbed the other times. The room was sufficient, nothing special, no decor to speak of, perhaps a little worn, but there was a fridge and the shower functioned without issue. Not a place I would rave about, but I slept well, and I didn't feel taken as a tourist.

Some travelers insist on a hotel in a central location but I find that hotels located slightly off the beaten track are friendlier, quieter and a better value. Hotel Eden, family owned and operated, is one of them and is no more than a ten minute cab ride or 30 minute walk to the historic center. We preferred the metered on-time cab service to save our feet for walking tours, exploring pilgrim sites and historic neighborhoods. I couldn't ask for a more pleasant and considerate staff. They are helpful as you plan out your stay. They answered all of my questions in several emails prior to my arrival and were available 24/7 during my stay. They actually solicit feedback on what they can do to improve your visit. We asked for something fixed in our room and it was done immediately and to our satisfaction without hesitation.
The room we had was small but cozy with kitchenette and frig to keep your bottled water and misc items cold. The bathroom was extremely large with room to change clothing and a hot shower with plenty of water pressure. The breakfast is great. There is a lot of variety, fresh fruit and even salads and vegetables which made my well traveled vegetarian companion happy. The bread is brought in fresh in the mornings and is truly incredible. Some pastry would have made the breakfast even better!

Eden hotel is within walking distance to a variety of nice restaurants and there's even a pizza and ice cream shop around the corner. We chose to visit the Israel museum during evening hours and the number 7 bus stops near the hotel and takes you there and back. Great location and my first choice for a return visit to Jerusalem.

First of all: It's not a three star hotel by any other standards than Israeli (and maybe London)!
The location is a 30 minute walk from Jaffa Gate - but it's a good walk :) otherwise there are multiple busses nearby (on Hebron Road).

Upon arrival the room was reasonably clean and tidy - though old and somewhat "worn out".
We stayed there for 9 nights and during that period the cleaning was very insufficient! The room itself got dirtier day-by-day, the cups and teaspoons (that we actually used for coffee) was just rinsed without the use of soap, empty water bottles wasn't removed, coffee not replenished ans so on.

The room was of decent size, but it would've been nice having an additional chair (only one available) and a small table. The bed's weren't that comfortable (too hard for our taste) and the sheets kept sliding off the mattresses - and I'm in doubt as to whether they were changed at all. The shower was very small...and with a ridicolous amount of water :(

The breakfast (or should it be breadfast?) was decent - but got really boring during 9 days. There was toast, eggs (hard boiled), cheese and some hummuses - but no cereals and no meat.

OFF TOPIC ALERT:
Don't forget to visit the restaurant 'Colony' on Beit Lehem Street 7 - it's a 15 minute walk away and worth every penny. It's located off the street at an old railway track...but it's worth a shot to find it.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a balcony (we didn't) as the rooms can seem quite dark and cold without i...

There were delicious breakfast salads, i believe home recipes. it was a very pleasant stay in quaint neighborhood near baka and emek rafaim as well as the tayelet. There are several busses going to the center of town near-by. The staff is super friendly.
