You must go through the Siloam- not only for the amazing technology but it's the most ancient underground fun that you will ever have.

“Fascinating, but the religious-nationalistic indoctrination may make your blood boil.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2013

We took the guided tour if the City of David, without realising that the site had an ideological propaganda purpose. We soon figured it out, though. This starter with the film, in which we were informed that their primary source for information on the site was the Bible (As a historical source, the Bible is interesting, but should surely be handled with some scepticism). Throughout the tour the otherwise charming guide kept producing her Bible, without any real attempt to contextualise. Huge jumps of logic followed as she attempted to link the approximate sayings of the remains to the reign of King David (whose existence is confirmed, I believe, in one non-Biblical artefact -surely not enough to build such a certain historical narrative). The history of Jerusalem and the site between the fall of the 2nd Temple and the 1940s was dealt with by the statement 'Jerusalem changed hands a few times in the intervening years'. The Dome of the Rock was described as occupying the Temple Mount 'at the moment', as though it was a temporary structure. So all-in-all a biased and often unhistorical exhibition and tour. However, the trip was made worthwhile by the water tunnels, which are genuine and have a fascinating history which was well-explained. If you can stomach the propaganda (and don't mind paying for it to continue), it's worthwhile.

“Go for the water tunnel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2013

Definitely enjoyed the visit with the water tunnel visit. Being archaeological-challenge, the visit of the site does not really excite me. The 3-D intro movie, short but precise, give a simple graphic explanation of how it all got started - at the City of David. Should definitely try to watch it.

“Another great place to visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

We enjoyed the spectacular views and imagined how David must have looked out and seen Bathsheba bathing on the rooftops.
We read the psalms that David was inspired to write on this spot.
The view and facilities areexcellent
