“Much ado about nothing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2014

Ein Hod is called an artists village and some of the people who live there are actual artists, but most of the place is sham. Basically it's a tourist trap. There are many arts and crafts galleries but nothing very original, and the prices are outrageous. And don't eat there. The eating places are even worse, mediocre food pretending to be gourmet with prices to match.

“Great, great day trip - especially with kids.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2014

We stopped in Ein Hod on our way from Haifa to Caesarea. What a treat. Charming bungalows dot the hillsides and roadway interspersed with impressive sculptures. A few enticing cafes with views along the path lead to the Janco-Dada Museau, which is a must-see and a best kept secret.

There are impressive works in this beautiful modern building, but be sure to take your kids to the bottom floor where there is an incredible hands-on workshop. We couldn't get our kids to leave. One of the best memories off the beaten path.

“Pretty much overrated.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2013

This place used to be SO hyped during the 1980's with Bohemian artists coming to live and work here.
Nowadays, it's still considered by many to be a tranquil and lovely place, where one can get inspired by local artists.

Our visit to the village was actually pretty boring. Other than some beautiful houses, a small museum, several open workshops and one particular friendly cat - there was nothing much to do there.

Would I recommend a visit to this place? Well, unless you have plenty of time while near Haifa, you can spare an hour or two here, but frankly - there are much better places to visit in the area than this "has been" village.

“Very romantic place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2013

A very romantic place. Artists contineously update their galleries. So each visit you can see something new.
