I stayed here for 10 nights and I really had an excellent experience.
The room was clean and spacious and was furnished with all the basic needs.
the kitchenette has all the dishes and utensil.
The owner is the best and he is very helpful and the location is great too and very close to train station and local restaurants/grocery stores.

Room Tip: call/email the owner directly to get more discount

- Great location (lots of places for a drink and food around, next to funicular to Mt.Carmel)
- Very friendly and helpful staff (can tell you the places for food/drink, print you the bus schedule)
- Very nice and clean apartment
- Good value for the money
- A great local bakery place opposite to it

Room Tip: You can ask for the room with a view to Mt.Carmel

This is probably the fifth time we have stayed in these apartments. They are clean, well equipped and furnished. They are tastefully decorated and close to all the amenities. Could not ask for more. Thank you and hope to see you soon. Mehran Nassiri

We stumbled onto the 1926 Apartments mostly by accident b/c we found the hotels in downtown Haifa were very expensive. This hotel is not a conventional hotel in that there is no front desk, reception area or amenities. You go into the owner's office (still under construction) and get your keys. Then you go to a building two doors down, enter a code and take the elevator to your room. our room rate was $102, US but somehow it worked out to a bit more when converted to shekels. Not a big deal; it may be that the shekel appreciated between our booking and payment.

The rooms are amazing, probably the most fully equipped of our trip. they include a hot plate, microwave, full size fridge and expandable dining table. The facility is brand new and provides a stylish and modern decor. This set up is ideal for those planning an extended stay and needing a base in Northern Israel.

The hotel location may be an area of concern for some. when our relatives heard where we were staying they drove out to satisfy themselves that it was a safe neighbourhood b/c the hotel is in an area that was previously more industrial i.e. sketch. The area remains outside the central area of downtown where all the expensive hotels are situated so if that is a problem for you consider another option. On the other hand, the hotel is 50 meters from the subway station entrance and sits at the corner of two pedestrian only streets. The location was cute and had a number of small restaurants and bars including an amazing hole in the wall Morrocan restaurant. On the night that we stayed at the hotel a stage was set up and there was a music festival. The local restaurants and bars hauled tables, chairs and sofas onto the streets and in no time the square was crowded with locals and tourists having a drink and enjoying the music into the night. Our relatives view the area as up and coming and I think that this is a fair description.

Access to the hotel by car and parking are a pain in the butt. Because of the pedestrian streets it is difficult to drive up to the hotel to unload luggage. The one way streets and divided roads make it difficult to turn left from the road leading into the area on to the streets leading to the hotel. There is a parking lot about 50 meters away but I had a major fight with the attendant. They charged 40 shekels for parking that was supposed to cover overnight but then they charged another 16 when I tried to leave the next morning. So not impressed.

Not to end on a down note, but adequate breakfasts continue to be a problem for the 1926 Apartments. Because they lack facilities of their own, the owner provides a voucher for the restaurant across the street. The arrangement with this restaurant is a new one, the previous restaurant having proved unsatisfactory (or so I gather from other reviews). This restaurant specializes in Burekas but on the whole the breakfast was inadequate. Notably there was not a single piece of fruit to be found on the small table that served as the buffet. That's unheard of for Israel. Orange juice consisted of bottles of juice with less than 10% juice content. Not cool.

All in all, I would be very happy to stay here again.

We very much liked the hotel and the area around it. I confess that I was getting a little anxious as we approached the address of the 1926 Apartments because the area seemed a little industrial -- near the waterfront with warehouses, et cetera. But it turned out that the hotel is located in a very fun, up and coming artisan area with lots of unique jewelry, clothing and art shops, plenty of nice cafes, and a fun, relaxed vibe. In fact the location is great in many respects, including the fact that it is maybe 200 feet from the Mt. Carmel funicular and easy walking distance to the German Colony at the foot of the B'hai Temple and gardens.

Our room was as advertised -- unique, colorful, fun. It was spacious with a nice kitchenette and a small balcony overlooking the pedestrian area below with the cafes and shops.

One note: If you are driving, the traffic patterns around the hotel are really confusing, with several one-way streets, and the hotel itself is actually a little back from the street in the pedestrian walking area. But the hotel staff are helpful, so call ahead and have them walk you through how to get to the one-way street that passes nearest to the hotel.

this place is unique - it isn't just your regular hotel, but rather a fully renoveted apartment hotel. the place once used to be a printing house but there's no sign of it today.
the rooms are clean, big and well designed (i saw 3 types). make sure you ask for a room with a balcony facing the carmel mountain.
the nearby surrounding offers many pubs, restaurants and coffe shops, so you won't be having problem to find places to dine or go out at night.
