“great hotel!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

we stayed in agamim for 3 nights,we took room "on the water" and it was the best! the service was really good! Agamim hotel, especially " room on the water" recommended for a quiet and romantic Vacation.Hotel location a bit far from the city center-10 Minutes walk.

A great hotel. Only superlatives to describe. Best for romantic vacations and travelling with little children. Nice pools, the staff is so polite and always wants to assist.
Breakfast - huge variety. The prices are fair. A little bit far from the seaside, but easy reached. Highly recommended - next time to Eilat - only Agamim.

Service is really poor in the dinning room at dinner when the hotel is full. Almost no fruit was available, when Israel is a country of plenty of fresh fruit. Rooms are old and missing basic items like facial tissues. Shower and bathtub need to be upgraded. Swimming pools are nice and well kept.

Room Tip: Eilat is full of great restaurants. Do not eat at the hotel. Try one of the restaurants.

The hotel is clean and comfortable. Our small group could always find a corner of a lounge for impromptu meetings. The breakfast and dinner buffets offered a large variety of dishes with cook to order eggs in the morning and a carving station in the evening. The staff at the buffet explained what unfamiliar dishes were and the food was very good. It did surprise and disappoint us that in spite of all the beautiful fresh fruit available in Israel at this time of year there was only grapefruit and occasionally honeydew melon on the buffet. The dining room is large and comfortable but the wait staff was slow in bringing beverages and removing plates. The pool, which is in a lazy river configuration, looked very inviting but we had did not have time and it was too cool to swim while we were there.

me and my wife stayed there for 3 nights. we allready stayed in this hotel two years ago, and we were very pleased. unfortunatly, this time around, this is not the case.
we bumped into all sorts of minor problems that you wouldn't excpect from this level of hotel, all accumulating to one major dissapointment:
1. we were booked for two nights, and about 3 weeks before arriving added another night. the first two nights were paid by my wife's company, and the added night by us. allthough we gave a notice in advance, made sure that we stay in the same room a couple of days before coming, and mentioning it when we checked in, after two nights we got a call from reception to come to the counter to re chechin for the added night (allthough stayed in the same room), when asked why, they said that the receptionist that did the initial check in, made a mistake and didn't do the added night's checkin.
2. no one mentiones that you had to tell the receptionist that you should give a credit card as deposit at checkin, so you can bill the room for things like juice at dinner. i went to the reception, gave the, the credit card number, and things went smoothly for the rest of the two nights. but then, when eating lunch on the last day of stay, they claimed yet again that we didn't gave a credit card number. i said we did, and after 10 minutes of them checking, they said it was fine, by than we allready finished eating...
3. asked for mint leaves in the dinning room. first waiter said o.k, and never got back with it (15 minutes). we asked again from the shift manager, she took another 10 minutes, and than said that they are out of mint leaves.
4.all sorts of small bugs that we bumped into: room's safe had buttons that you had to push really hard or a couple of times, in order to get the numbers in. i guess the touch buttons were pretty much dead. the desk lamp didn't work. the repair man was half an hour in our room trying to fix it, and than took it with him and returned it later. Last, the dial for the air conditioner didn't have any numbers (thay were deleted over time i guess) so you had to guess the temperture.

all this bugs alone could be overlooked, but all of them together diminished our experience greatly. i should mention that these things didn't happen to us two years ago.
another thing is that the chef was probably changed, or suddenly was given a tight badget. the creativity that was apperent last time, was changed into just decent food, and gone was the great veriaty. the food wasn't awful, but nothing like the last time.
maybe it's the way things are off season, but if not, this doesn't feel like a luxury hotel.
the pool looks very nice, but we didn't use it as it was cold.
near the hotel there's a new mall, which is very nice, and has a big ring for ice skating.

We stayed at the Isrotel Agamim Eilat hotel during 3 nights (15.3-18.3.2013).

Unfortunately, we wouldn't recommend this hotel, since we feel that we didnt get our money worth. we paid 2000 nis (=570$) for 3 nights with breakfast only, not cheap for a low-season.

the service was poor, beginning with the receprionists, who was quite rude both times, in check-in and in check-out, and didnt try to assist in any way.

the food: we only had breakfast. the choice was poor. from all the fruits available in this season in israel, we only had grapefruite. this is outrageous! also, there was a shortage of basic things in the dinning room like plates, cutlery, napkings etc.

the room is average. the bed has 2 matrasses, although it's supposed to be a couple's room, therefore one would expect 1 matrrass.

the location: near the new mall, no view to the red sea.

in conclusion: dissapointed mainly from the service & the food, wouldn't recommend.
