So, the final word on this hotel stay is that we enjoyed it very much! We rented 4 rooms for 2 families with children and a couple. The rooms are spacious and clean, the beds are comfortable, the showers are great, very nice balconies that overlook the pool area. A very good "room" experience (excluding the below-mentioned issue...)
The pool area is also good, we stayed at a very busy time of year, but we always had room to put our stuff, sit back and relax.
I think one of the main pluses of the hotel is the food. It is by far not a 4 star hotel food quality, rather 5 stars of even more, the variety and the originality of the food is really remarkable. It is simply very good!
The staff is nice and helpful, the location of the hotel is a bit problematic, you need to walk 5-10 minutes until you reach the main promenade, but it's manageable. It is however very close to a new shopping mall and ice-skating center, only a few minutes walk to that center.
BUT, a word of advice: we stayed on level 2, just on top of the rooms where you get to have access to the pool directly from your room. We were unfortunate enough to stay above a set of rooms occupied by a very noisy bunch of families, and we had to endure that noise mornings, afternoons, evenings and nights. I would expect the windows in a hotel to almost completely seal the noise out when closed, but this is not the case at this hotel, they have no impact when closed and the noise gets in your room. So we had to go back and forth with the security officer of the hotel, to try to get the noise down. Also, the staff moves around a lot with utility carts in the corridors, which do not have carpets and this is also very noisy. The fact of the matter is that the rooms absorb all outside noise and this is an issue! So, the advice is to book a room which is remote, this way you will get less noise from the carts, and also try to book the rooms which are not on the "corners" of the hotel structure, this way you are less likely to find yourselves on top of families who have adjoined rooms (the family rooms are located in the "corners").
Even though we had "noise" issues, the hotel "pros" definitely outweigh the hotel "cons" and it was a very positive experience for us.
Choose rooms that are far from the entrance (or main lobby), this way you'll get less noise from...
