My family and I stayed in the Galey hotel, in Eilat, in Sept 2007. We booked the hotel directly, but I checked it out on israeldeal.com before doing so. To my surprise, almost everything the website advertised was not true. They said that the hotel had recently been renovated, which was far from the truth. The lobby furniture was stained and full of cigarette burns, the tile around the elevators was broken, the hallways were dirty, the tub had chips throughout and the walls and baseboards in the room were filty with black smudges and dirt. The hotel advertises that they have a lobby bar and swimming pool; neither of which exist. I asked the receptionist where the pool was and she said that they didn't have one, but I could use a neighboring hotel's pool for free. The website also advertises views of the red sea, which does exist, but very few of the rooms have it. The majority of the rooms have a view of the airport or the construction site in the back (I've included pictures of both). Something else I found strange, was that the front of the hotel had been re-stuccoed (which you can see on their website), but the rear had not (which I included a picture of). I guess I should have looked at Trip Advisor before booking this hotel. Ths was definitely a lesson learned.
