“Some of the most beautiful mosaics you will ever see from 363 CE, our visit was in August 2012”
We spent about 5 hours completing the whole area except the water resevoir which is at the entrance of the Park.
above is the linkto my photos of August 2012.
Zippori is a large 16 square kilometer area where you can see the peaceful valleys surrounding the hilltop, There are artifacts from the period of the Second Temple, a museum, ancient synagogue, Cardo (Roman sreet network) Amphitheater, ancient water resevoir,a church, Orpheus House, Nile House, fortress, Tomb of Rabbi Yudan Nesiah, but the most spectacular find to date, since excavations are still unearthing more archaological wonders. The Dionysus House has the most amazing mosaics almost completely intact depucting the life of Dionysus, the god of wine. The "piece de resistance' and is a must see and has been called "The Mona Lisa of Zippori" Abeautiful lady indeed!
When you visit Zippori you ay also wish to visit nearby Beit She'arim National park. Wheelchair accessibility is possible on most of the area
