“it is excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2011

From Pumukkale I took a pullman bus to Selcuk and stayed at the wonderful Homeros Pension. This place is the best. Grandma’s cooking is awesome, along with free breakfast, wireless internet, free wine on the rooftop for the sunset each night. The Homeros has an excellent atmosphere that creates friendly socialization with the other guest. I paid 50 YTL and stayed three nights. They give free rides to Ephesus and it’s easy to walk back into town.

Had I known how much I would enjoy Selcuk and the people there, I would have booked a much longer stay. As soon as I got off the bus from Pammukale my first night I was well cared for. Sado was there to guide me to the pension. Dervis had dinner ready, and had already coordinated a meetup time with my Ephesus guide for the next morning. Osman answered my questions about the monument to Ugur Mumcu that I saw in the square and made me tea. Throughout my brief stay in town these were the sincerest, friendliest people I met in Turkey. Given the great hospitality I encountered throughout the country, this is saying a lot.

The room was very comfortable and had a lot of charm. My favorite parts of the pension were the communal areas. The view of the sunset from the terrace was very relaxing. Lots of good company could be found in the dining room, which was extremely cozy and inviting. The meals were excellent, and abundant. I wish I had booked more days in Selcuk and intend to next time I visit.

Room Tip: I'm not usually comfortable in a first-floor room when traveling alone, but had no qualms about...

We loved Homeros! Dervin and Barbara were wonderful to us, treating us like family. The evening meals were great tasting and fun social events! The sunset terrace was a great end to the day. I would strongly recommend Homeros to everyone.

We (me an my husband) stay there 3 nights, 4-5-6 september.

The boss, the sister, the mum: always smiling, nice, taking into account requests, needs, language uncertainty ;-))).

Rooms are nice and clean, price very good, dinner in very Turkish style.

If we would come back to selcuc….we will return there!!!

Very reccomeded.

Homeros Pension was a great place to stay. The staff were friendly, even though we arrived at 1am. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and also decorated with nice and cute furniture that created a really homey feel. The terrace for breakfast was also really nice and comfortable. The location in Selcuk was great, as was the price. What more do you need?

Last week we spent a couple of days in Homeros pension. The room was very comfortable, with great character, as well as the whole pension. Bathroom, sheets & towels were perfectly clean.
You can expect warm welcome from Dervis, the owner, as well as the rest of the family running the pension. If you want you can enjoy tasty home-made dinners, glass of wine on the roof-terrace with wonderful view over the Temple of Artemis and friendly chat with other travelers.
If you plan to visit Efes or other places in this area, Homeros pension is definitely the best choice where to stay.
