“Sets the scene”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013

This is the first part of the wonders of the ancient city & leads you down towards the well-preserved terraced houses, before you turn the corner slightly & see the magnificent library. There are many cats, sitting on the pillars & stone blocks, on Curetes Street, greeting visitors & guides, hopeful of biscuits. They weren’t disappointed when we arrived.
Even though the ancient shops & establishments along here are now in ruins, it fuels the imagination & it’s not hard to picture what that street must once have been like.

“this is the main street down to the celsus library.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2013

There is a new walkway being built to make it easier for wheelchair users. There is new excavations at the start of this part of your tour.

“Literally walking through history!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013

The second you set foot on Ephesus, you know you have entered somewhere very special. The pathway leading you all the way down to the most incredible site on Ephesus (The Library) is absolutely filled with dents and holes and even if the ground is lifted up at most places and everything looks really rugged, that's what gives the charm to the Curetes Street!

“A Step Back in Time”

These photos are from April 1999, when we visited Ephesus as part of a tour of Turkey. The visit to Ephesus and Curetes Street was certainly a high point of the trip.

“Following footsteps of the ancients”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013 via mobile

Don't want to overrate this. There are many places in the world where you can follow a 2000 year old road. This fascinates because it is part of an ancient city and only recently brought back into view. Still as you follow this road past impressive ruins and continuing excavations until you reach the library, you have to appreciate your chance to follow it
