as a Catholic, i was actually expecting a bit more on this site. after all, St John, a titan in the religion, had his 1st basilica and presumably buried on the site. but there was little description of the site and the sections. perhaps a "model" of what it was would have made the site a lot more spiritual and awe-inspiring
there is a little shack on the site that houses presumably the murals from the church's altar but it was closed and not for public viewing. the security person allowed me to take a look and took a couple of pictures but the murals were not restored and barely visible.
