Our family of 4 (parent, 2 teenagers and 6 year old) had a wonderful 3 night stay at this hotel. Recently opened, everything is fresh and clean. The hotel has four guest rooms in one building. We were able to view all four rooms: two of them are large with large sleep sofas and roomy enough to accomodate a family while the other two rooms were slightly smaller, but really romantic and had much larger bathrooms. There was a pleasant outdoor courtyard with trees, flowers and tables and chairs for guests' use, and a smaller building with another sitting area, tv, guest computer, and tables and chairs (breakfast was served here). The hotel grounds were blocked from the road by a gate.
The hosts (we met two brothers and their father) were very helpful and accomodating, and although no one was there all the time, they were in and out often enough for us to ask questions and advice. We traveled to Selcuk by bus at the last minute, and they helped me buy plane tickets back to Istanbul. They were really pleasant to my kids, especially my 6 year old. Very friendly, but not intrusive. It was a lovely, private spot. We visited with other guests when sitting in the garden, but there was plenty of time when it was only us there, so a little bit of paradise for ourselves!
The room we had was large enough for all four of us to stay comfortably for 3 nights. It was almost two rooms, a bedroom and a sitting area. My teenage sons slept on a convertible couch and said it was quite comfortable. Our bathroom was small but clean. The rooms were very quiet, and there were electric shutters so the room could be darkened at night. There was a small refrigerator in the room. Wifi (and also a computer for guests' use in the dining room).
Be sure to have the hosts show you how to use the room and gate keys. I had problems getting the gate key to work every time, but my sons would get in on the first try (and roll their eyes at me).
The location of the hotel was ideal: a two-minute walk to the historic mosque and the basilica of St. John, and less than 5 minutes to the main street. Our hosts drove us several times, and went out of their way to accomodate us.
This was the ideal base to explore the area. It was perfect for our family; my older sons would sit in the courtyard or watch tv in the other building or visit with the other guests when they wanted a break from mom or when they wanted to stay up a little later. It was a very safe spot. We stayed for three nights, and we all wished we could've stayed longer!
