“Nice place!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2011

We just stayed for 1 night, but it did the job and was cheap!

Location is great, rooms are comfortable, clean, with big shower and air-con. Owners are friendly and serve breakfast on the terrace. We booked last minute on hostelworld, they had the cheapest price. You can park on the street for free outside, although if you stay on a Friday night there is a BIG market on the Saturday morning, so ask the owners where to park! Also free wi-fi.

We stayed for two nights. It was very clean and service was wonderful. The family that runs the pension are very friendly and are terrific hosts. The complimentary breakfast was very enjoyable up on the rooftop with a nice Turkish breakfast of cheese, bread, jam, cucumbers, tomatoes, and eggs. The family that owns this pension have also just opened a new pension a few kilometers away in a beautiful cabin with a view of the mountains. We ate a delicious 5-course dinner there outdoors and peeked in on the brand new rooms. They look like their straight out of a magazine. Beautiful, modern rooms with kitchenettes that would be perfect for families. There's also the option to rent an entire floor with several bedrooms, kitchen, and living area. I highly recommend both pensions!

Seval and her charming family provided an excellent base for our visit to Ephesus, St. Mary's House, and a day trip to Pamukkale. We stayed in a quiet triple room in the back of the building with air conditioning and a private bath and it was so nice to be able to walk around the town in the evenings when the tour buses have left. This hotel is an excellent value for a bargain price and they even did our laundry for a small fee! We arrived in a rental car, but if you are traveling by bus it is not far to the bus station and connections to all the sights. Seval has a lending library of the guides to the major attractions in several languages. Her English is excellent. Breakfast on the roof with a view of the fortress was a good start to our day. Internet was great! This is a simple, family operation but a major hotel would be fortunate to be this sparking clean. Thanks for a great visit!

Room Tip: Bring toiletries or buy some in the nearby shops.

We loved staying here. The owner, Seval Demirel, is so nice and helpful. She is very friendly and so cheerful. Her parents help her out and they are very nice too. The hotel is spotlessly clean, comfortable and quiet. Seval will let you use her computer if you're in a pinch. (I STRONGLY suggest wearing rubber flip flops in the bathroom/shower......it can be VERY slippery!! No kidding.)

Room Tip: on the back, quiet, balcony

Stayed here for two nights while visiting Ephesus. At 70 Lira per night for 3 people it seemed good value. The rooms are basic but very clean and everything worked including the hot water. Our room had a balcony but was at the back so looked into a neighbouring bulding and alleyway. The breakfast was served on the roof terrace which was picturesque but there could have been a bit more of it. The owner and her family are very friendly and helpful - lent us a guide book for Ephesus. There's a really good meatballs restaurant just across the road. If you go to Ephesus the audio guides are good - 10TL each.

Room Tip: A room at the front would have a better view

I have just spent 3 nıghts at the Vardar Famıly Pensıon ın Selcuk! A freındly & helpful famıly....Seval, her parents and a sıster run thıs pensıon. Seval has good englısh & ıs a fluent dutch speaker. Her parents & sıster have much more englısh than most of us tourıst have turkısh! Our room was squeaky clean & we had 24 hour hot water! The bed was very comfortable wıth a new matress. We were on the top floor & had a shared balcony on 2 sıdes. The area of the pensıon ıs wıthın easy walkıng dıstance to the bus & traın statıon .. but not so close that there ıs a noıse problem.
You can walk to Epheus & there are many places restuarants wıthın a few mınutes walk.

Room Tip: top floor - good vıews!

Only two blocks from the bus station and a mere 6 blocks from the train station, this place was ideally located. It was secure, clean, roomy and the staff was friendly. The water was cold after 6 pm. To get to or from the Izmir airport follow these:
The train station is located in the airport at Izmir. It costs 4TL to get to the heart of Selcuk. As of May 11, 2011, the bus schedule for Selcuk to Izmir airport is 6:49, 7:27, 8:53, 11:36, 15:10, and 19:20. The schedule for Izmir airport to Selcuk is 9:29m 11:35, 15:42, 17:00, 18:53, and 20:39. If you are concerned about arriving in Selcuk late at night and finding a hotel, ask the hotel personnel to meet you. A “pick up” at the train station often means they will meet you and walk with you to the hotel. It is a small town so it shouldn’t be more than an 8 block walk, but if you have a lot of luggage, you may want to use a cab or tell the hotel you have luggage and need a car pickup.

Room Tip: Avoid suggestions from Pamukkale bus personnel
