“Great location, super-friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2013

Tulip is in an excellent spot for tourists- right around the corner from the must-see mosques and museums while also being a 30-second walk to a strip of excellent Turkish budget restaurants. Staff are exceedingly nice here too. Only downside is that the rooms are quite small, but that's true across the city- it's not like Tulip's rooms are significantly smaller in comparison. A good, solid 3.5 out of 5 b&b.

This small hotel was recommended to me by friends who had been in Istanbul several times. And we were not disappointed.
You at the heart of the old part of Istanbul, but still hidden from its chaos, enough to have a quiet sleep at night.
The place is simple but furnished with all the necessary things for a short vacation. It is clean and the breakfast is delicious. Definitely worth the price we were charged.
What we were not charged for was the kindness and the warmth of the people running the place - the loveliest part of Tulip Guesthouse. It makes a good difference starting your day in Istanbul meeting such people at first.
The only problem with our stay at Tulip was that our vacation was over and we had to leave it.

Room Tip: The room right under the breakfast room is great and has got a view on the Bosphorus.

We stayed for 5 nights at Tulip. The rooms are very clean and well kept. Our room had everything that we needed for a citytrip. Nice beds, free wifi and a good shower. Our room was located at the second floor next to the breakfast room but still we were not bothered by any noise.
The Turkish breakfast is simple but very good. From the breakfast room you have a great sea view

Tulip is just a few steps away from the Blue Mosque and Haghia Sophia and the tram. It is in a quit and safe street. The most pleasant was Essin, the manager and her staff. They really are so friendly and authentic. They really make you feel at home and as if you are part of the family.
I would really recommend this place because of the friendly staff and good rooms.

We stayed four nights at Tulip and we had a great experience.

The property is in a quiet area and very secure. we had the key of the front door which gave us the opportunity to go back at any time during the night. Masood and the girls are lovely and very happy to help- the guesthouse well located, tucked behind the main drag but close to all the attractions, restaurants and bars.

Our room was on the second floor, opposite the breakfast room. The room was a bit small but absolutely fine for what we needed.

The breakfast provided was really nice - cheese, olives, bread, salads, fruit, eggs and tea/coffee and the view over the water is stunning.

Fantastic value for money - I will defenitely used it again if I ever go to Istanbul again and I would definitely recommend it.

We had a very pleasant stay at Tulip Guest House. Location is great, close to several must-sees and tram station. The room was small, but very well kept and had everything we needed. The most remarkable thing about this place was the staff – very friendly and helpful, they made us feel like we were staying at our friend’s house. We’d definitely recommend this place to our friends, and would love to come back when we have a chance to visit Istanbul again.

Room Tip: Sea view room for additional 10Euro was very much worth it.
