“Front desk Manager...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012

Front desk Manager, Bunyamin , clearly went above and beyond the call of duty. Once we had checked in, he invited us to the rooftop lounge and began our visit with a detailed conversation to discover what we would like to get out of our Istanbul experience. Once armed with this information he made a number of suggestions of things to do and see during our stay in Istanbul. From his selection of a guide to take us on a historic walking tour, to his personal tutelage in negotiating with shopkeepers in the Covered Bazaar his recommendations were flawless and his personal assistance was unparalleled.

The staff Muhlisbey at the was equally committed to the best overall experience for their guests. This hotel is small and intimate and while there, we felt like we were part of the family. They were consistently attentive whether servicing a request for our room, or suddenly appearing with a beautiful woven shawl to ward off the autumn evening breeze on the rooftop.

Our Suite, Next to FOUR SEASON HOTEL , was gorgeous in its extravagant fabrics and detail. The views were breathtaking; either experienced from our room, or the hotel’s excellent rooftop restaurant. There is no better location in Istanbul to enjoy the views of the many historic sites including the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque or the endless ships on the Sea of Marmara entering and exiting the Bosphorus.

Muhlisbey was indeed the jewel that capped a most memorable holiday for us

We stayed at Muhlisbey for 4 nights celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. It is a very clean and comfortable boutique hotel in the centre of the old town just across the street from the Four Seasons . The rooms were very clean.but small Wifi was good in the room. The staff were very polite and helpfull. We were especially grateful to the young men (Bunyamin And Moustafa at the front desk who gave us great restaurant suggestions, many directions, made transportation arrangements, and generally, just so cheerful, it was infectious. Breakfast was OK.... I will stay MBH again I stay in Istanbul for sure!

Room Tip: Breakfast was a scare on the face of buffets so poor

I was there las week, everything was very good, the room and restourant too, very comfortable, not expensive and very clean. Very gentle staff, especialy the reception - the man on reception named Bunjamin (as I remember) was very helpful, and knew about history and arcitecture a lot, he adviced us to see very interesting things in Istanbul, and it was great he spoke very good english.... and as I noticed other several languages too... So I felt there as at home. I surely will visit istanbull in february once more and will live in that same hotel. Recomend it to everybody!

Room Tip: Ask advice of the reception - he is so helpful!

The perfect thing about this hotel is it's location, i've been to istanbul before several times but this authentically decorated hotel is just at the hearth of old city sultanahmet. And the smile of the staff was perfect they were very helpful especially a guy named Mustafa is a perfect guy he helped about everything. Rooms are perfect and the view is great.

I've been here twice, the first time (march 2012) was decent.
A simple place to stay in a top location and enjoy the historical area of Istanbul.
Price is good but this time the service was really poor.
The room was very very small it wasn't clean, bathroom stinky and breakfast is less than basic.
View from the terrace is stunning but who runs this little hotel needs to make an effort in order to provide a standard service.

Room Tip: Ask you want the room clean daily!!

this is a very small and budget lodge with only 9 rooms. IF you want 5 stars conf or deluxe services, this is not the place for you, just go next door and pay 3 times more. The hotel offered enought for what we paid (65€ a night, incl breakfast with omeletes!) . Our room was not the biggest, but clean and confortable for our needs. We indeed spent more time on the wonderful terraces and walking around, so after all a real good choice.
The hotel is in a quite location, in the middle of the old city, just a short stroll from the Bue Moschee, Aiga Sophia and the Cistern Basilic. What can you ask more for this money :-))
The night porter (James Bond), the receptionist (Tom Cruise) and the waiter in charge for breakfast were very helpful and always tryied to please our noisy small group of Italians.
Definitely, we will go back to Istanbul soon, and definitely go back to Muhlsi Bey.
Greetings from the Italians!!!
