We stayed here Apr-2007, it cost £34.31(€50.00) a night for a double.
Firstly I wish we had arranged for collection. At €40 for pickup from Sabiha Gökçen Airport it seemed expensive, esp when I'd been told there was a bus that went to the centre that was cheap. However there are three problems with that 1) the time you have to wait for the bus, 2) it does not go to Sultanahmet but to a Taksim square 3) so if that's where you are staying that's great but if you are in Sultanahmet or nearby there - you have to get there by funicular, then tram or take a taxi. For us two it worked out at £10 less than the hotel pickup would have been & that would have been worth it.
We had room 201, a room that overlooked the street. It was a basic but nice airy bright room. The four poster bed was very comfortable & the street very quite. One small negative was the bathroom, it was the smallest I have ever seen. It is basically a toilet with a shower stuck on the wall. You could litterly sit on the toilet and have a shower. The water didn't drain away properly which meant we had to 'waste' a towel each day to dry it (normally we are happy to just reuse the same towel instead of having new each day). Also the airvent in the bathroom goes into the building and is not terribly efficient to get rid of the steam. However that was easily solved by opening the window. The warm-water was mostly good but a bit irregular depending on how many shower at the same time. There was a heater in the room which you could turn on if you wanted & aircon was advertised although I couldn't see any signs of it.
The breakfast room was on the top floor with a spectacular seaview - even better if you go up on the roof. There are no lift so it may not be suitable to some people. The breakfast was nice but basic - instant coffee, yoghurt, jam, cornflakes, olives, cheese, jams & bread - for 3 lira you can have fresh OJ as well!
There is an honour (honesty?) system for soft drinks, beer, snacks from the kitchen & to use the computer - you write down what you take & pay at checkout. It was delightfully refreshing to be trusted and I truly hope no one misuses it so they can keep it up. We got a few beers some nights and sat on the roof top late at night enjoying the view. From the roof top you have sea view. You can see the top of Ayasofia sort of from one end but to be honest - you will see it enough anyway. If you really want to do that view in style, have dinner at "The seven hills" hotel roof top restaurant.
The hotel is within easy walking distance from all the main sites in Sultanahmet such as Topkapi Palace, Ayasofia, The blue mosque & Basilica cistern. There are a lot of restaurants as well ranging from cheap and cheerful to romantic.
It is a real family run hotel, mum, dad, son & daughter (who speaks excellent English) - that is worth supporting on it's own.
If/when we come back I would be very happy to stay there again!
