We were travelling with our 2 children and had the opportunity to have a comfortable room for 4 people including a hair drier.
Hostel is ideally situated between blue mosquee and haya sofia, in a little street so quite calm.

There is a nice view to the bosphorus on the terrasse when we could eat breakfast when weather allowed it !
Typical turkish breakfast (including cumcumber, tomatoes, eggs, salami, cheese, and a good roses ham..) was very good.
Moreover, our guest was very kind and provided usefull tips about Istanbul.

We also book airport transfer to the hotel and it was efficient, comfortable and on time for arrival and departure..

Some tips about Istanbul:

Istanbul is a wonderful city with really nice and welcoming people: take some time to visit it (at least 7 days) and don't forget to look at weather forecast before leaving as it was still quite cold in April ;-).

In Istanbul restaurants, ask for price informations before ordering (is there additional fees for service or table for instance) as price are sometimes not very well indicated. Ask for non spicy food if you are not used to it ;-). Otherwise most of the time food is very good wherever you eat ;-)

Istanbulcard (former akbil) is a convenient way to travel with transportations. You can get it near stations in "akbil" kiosks

Room Tip: free wifi + guest computer

This small family hotel is well situated, nearby most of the interresting places, but in a small quiet street. If you ask, the hostess gives many good advices and adresses.
The weather was cold this april week: June must be marvelous in Istanbul.

Very certral location, 10min walk from tram or train. Most of the great sights are within walking distance. Friendly owners offer great turkish breakfast on roof restaurant. Great terrace with views over Marmara see. Rooms are small but nice. With four (2 children) paying full price it gets a bit packed for the price you pay. Free WiFi is a plus.

Stayed 3 nights here and found it clean, comfy and central. Family run, Mum was so welcoming and helpful, despite only limited English - the men of the family were rather taciturn.
Help yourself breakfast was plentiful and varied and the freshly squeezed juice-an extra 3 TL- was the best way to start the day.
The Blue Mosque was minutes away as was a bazaar full of individual shops, and there was a good selection of cafes and restaurants. We ate at the Turquoise, with a roaring fire( it was very chilly outside) and friendly service , delicious food at a reasonable price.

That's a really nice and cosy place, perfectly located in Sultanahmet area, clean with private rooms and homemade breakfasts. I really enjoyed my stay in this guesthouse which is really more like a home, where everybody is full of good mood and hospitality. Thanks again and lots of success!!! I would recommend this place to families as well as solo travellers and should I happen to be in Istanbul again I know which guesthouse to choose!

Marmara Guesthouse is a great place to stay, fantastically close to most of the sights, yet quiet, very clean, with friendly Elif and Ersin always willing to help. Our room was comfortable and cozy, breakfasts very satisfying, overall a very nice stay!
