“Didn't stay but were shown around”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

As stated we didn't stay here we were staying at the Mari Time Hotel not far from here but it didn't do lunch. We spent a couple of lunchtimes at the Med Cezir and asked to look around the rooms in case we come back. This really is a little gem of a place right near the centre. After trekking around we would enjoy an Efes beer which was 6TYL as opposed to 10TYL at most other places nearby. Also Wine was 8TYL which was also cheaper than the surrounding places. We would order a meze with the fabulous 'puffed up bread' not sure what the real name was but it was great. The rooms looked lovely and bathrooms were clean. The staff were very friendly and I would def recommend a visit here even if you are not staying here it is good value to eat instead of on the main stretch where you pay over the odds.

Not really much to talk about because everything's been already written in other reviews, but let me say it one more time. Hotel Med Cezir is situated in probably the best place for those, who want to see Istanbul's old town. It's right in between of Haghia Sophia and Blue Mosque with a view on both from the terrace. But it's not a big deal, it also has really really small prices. But that's not the best of it either. The staff in this hotel is the best staff I've ever seen (not that I've seen too much, but anyway). Guys there are just great. The hotel also provides you with good food, and nicely decorated interiors. I have nothing bad to say about it. Thumbs up.

This small and nice hotel has an amazing location, 1 minute from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, together with its excellent facilities and spectacular views from the terrace of the attic. Without forgetting the good quality of its restaurant. And finally, best of all, incredible treatment and the good atmosphere that there is with the staff.

The hotel is the very good option for those who looks for the plase to spend couple of nights in the very heart of Istanbul. The rooms has minimal area, but you do not notice it as you only sleep there. The separate particularity of the place is the closeness to the Blue Mosque. We were woke up all the days by the moedzin voice at 5 a.m. (prayer time im muslim countries). Staff of the place is very friendly - you will be not only advised but also shown the best places for hammam and waterpipe if you want.

It's hard to get a better location in Sultanahmet, and the price is very reasonable. Even better are the staff members, who are very accommodating and friendly. We stayed for one night before heading to southern Turkey. On our way out of the country, we had a day in Istanbul, and the staff were happy to let us leave our bags for the day, have a cup of tea, and get some directions/advice for the day. After spending only one night there, we felt like we were welcomed back as close friends. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

This is a very good hotel. It's located just a few steps away from the main attractions of Istambul (Haggia Sofia, Blue Mosque and the Palace), the personnel is extremely helpful and friendly and rooms are quite nice. I definitely recomend it.

We stayed at Med Cezir in the first week of July, between our time in Greece and Hungary this summer. It was our first time visiting the historic city of Istanbul, and we honestly report that our choice of the Med Cezir enhanced our experience.

The hotel is situated right in between the breathtaking Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque, and is a short walk from many of the attractions in Sultanahmet.

The staff was very attentive; they helped us however they could. Tony and Sadik were so friendly, they made us feel quite comfortable, and contributed to a wonderful week. The Med Cezir is an excellent choice for a stay in Sultanahmet, and at a great price.
