Seems your bathroom while showering spills lots of water out of it making floor very wet and slippery. Also, being a pure vegetarian (no eggs, no fish too), it was difficult to find good bread in the breakfast.

Is good to stay in this hotel if you are a business traveler, its quiet and far from the crowded city.. in the middle way between the center of city and the airport.
Quiet, clean, sea view is great and restaurant is very good, the only note it is the location but its very good for business.

I stayed at this hotel at the end of September whilst in Istanbul on business. However, I flew my partner out for the weekend. The hotel itself is fantastic for both business & pleasure. It has a bar and restaurant which were reasonably priced and an outdoor pool (closed from mid-September until spring).

Very friendly and helpful staff - providing a wealth of information relating to the city and recommended places to go.

Fantastic views out to sea from virtually all rooms - great for watching the ships queue to go though the Bosphorus to the Black Sea.

The hotel lays on a free shuttle bus to various places within the City and has its very own taxi rank - taxi's are very reasonably priced compared to the UK.

Located halfway between the City and the airport - its great for a short visit.

The only problem I would say is the hotel is built by the side of what could be best described as a motorway. It's not possible to walk anywhere from the hotel. At the other side of the motorway is a wide pavement looking out to sea complete with benches to enjoy the sunshine - However, there is simply no way to get there - a foot bridge would be a fantastic enhancement!

For this reason only, I would not recommend this hotel for an extended holiday. However, I would certainly recommend for short vacation or business trip.

Free WiFi throughout was a great touch!

When you go to one of the most fascinating cities on the planet you should try and be in a place that is at least charming, and certainly close to the stunning historical center of Istanbul.
I was sent to Istanbul for a conference and booked at this place and between the submarine-cabin-like room and the view of a construction site and a lot of mud out my window during 4 freezing days, plus the dark interiors, I went from being a fairly happy person to a ghoul within 24 hours. It was just SAD. Worse than sad. This feels like the middle of nowhere, and no one does charmless as well as the French, frankly. The breakfast & food were correct and that's about all one can say.
Booked myself into the Ciragan Kempinski on my dime at the end of the stay, because a muddy suburb is just NOT the Istanbul I know...

Dear Guest,

We thank you for recently visiting our hotel and the time taken to share your comment.

We are sorry to hear that we were not able to meet your expectations about location and interior design of our hotel.

Novotel Istanbul is located on the Marmara Sea coats, in between Istanbul Ataturk Airport (aprox. 6 miles / 10 Km) and Sultanahmet (Old City, aprox. 6 miles / 10 Km). In order to provide alternative accessibility solutions for our guests, we provide complimentary shuttle services on dedicated times to Taksim (city center), to Sultanahmet (old city) and to Bakirkoy (shopping district).

We appreciate sharing your concerns and it is our hope that we may have the pleasure of welcoming you again at Novotel Istanbul.

Yours sincerely,

Ahmet Yavuz

This hotel is a good choice if you have a business trip since its close to Ataturk international airport, but on the other hand its far away from Taksim needs around 20min and 25TL.

rooms are good, internet service is free and with high speed.

Good hotel situated half way between the airport and old part of Istanbul city / Golden horn, Topkapi museum.
In fact in same building as Ibis hotel, so not such a big difference in facilities, except in price... Ibis is quite as good in fact. Sometimes, what I do, is simply book hotel for sleeping at cheaper Ibis and god for late dinner at next door Novotel if I do not want to move to city ( which is just 20 minutes away by taxi anyway ).

I stayed twice at this hotel in the last month for a total of five or six nights. Both rooms were the same in décor and were clean and comfortable. The 11th floor corner room was great!

The breakfast spread is perhaps the best I've seen anywhere. The hotel is modern in design and shares a pool with the next door Ibis. There is a covered sitting area poolside for cocktails or food. Also a gift shop and conference rooms.

What really sets this hotel apart is the staff. The staff can make or break any hotel. Really, business schools should see the apparent processes that Accor uses in hiring staff. Not sure how many countries in which I've stayed at an Accor, but it's probably 20 or more. EACH Accor hotel had friendly accommodating staff who typically spoke English very well. This Accor hotel is the best of the Accor brands and locations I've stayed at.

Highly recommend this hotel. Very cosmopolitan too. You'll see middle easterners having a beer next to tourists and their families next to European businessmen. The hotel has a shuttle to the downtown tourist sites, and the Haga Sophia and Blue Mosque must not be missed.

Book this hotel when in Istanbul.

Room Tip: Higher the better. The ships in the sea day or night are beautiful.
