I have stayed in Ada Hotel twice, and before that with the owners Dr and Mrs Sumengen when they had a different hotel in Istanbul. I went looking for their new hotel in order to enjoy the same sense of connection and security I had experienced in their previous location. I have stayed in a number of other hotels in Istanbul but from now on this is The One for me. I will be returning tree times in 2014, as i am doing research for a new book. I find the location in their part of Sultanamet soothing and like a small village within the greater city. It is really convenient for walking to all the main historic sites and the tramways. Nothing is too much trouble for our hosts and their help is kindly offered. The food is fantastic and the breakfast unbeatable, prepared by three wonderful sisters, who also clean the hotel extremely well. All the facilities in the rooms are comfortable and work well. I know there are less expensive basement rooms for those on a tight budget, but I choose a sea view and it is fantastic. I highly recommend Ada Hotel. Dr Robyn Rowland AO
