“Brilliant Hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012 via mobile

This hotel delivers everything it promises. It is in a very convenient location being a short walk to the Blue Mosque, Spice Markets and Grand Bazzare just to name a few. The breakfast is simply awesome and provides a wonderful dining experience. The staff cannot do enough to help. I asked for a good restaurant, next minute a taxi had been booked, reservation made and the night was fantastic! Will definitely return!

“Outstanding Hotel, wonderful service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

This was a fantastic hotel- we'd recommend it to anyone. It's a 5 minute walk from the Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, and Hagia Sofia in Sultanamet. It has an included delicious home-cooked breakfast spread in the morning (with a phenomenal view of the Sea of Mamara from the 5th floor terrace, too!), very friendly and accommodating staff members, and it's extremely affordable. The rooms are spacious, impeccably clean, and very comfortable. The free WiFi is another nice perk, as well as the kitchenette attached to each room. Additionally, the owner runs his own travel agency, so he can help with bookings to Cappadocia and other Turkish destinations, if you'd like. There are about a million small hotels from which to choose in Sultanamet and it can be overwhelming; do yourself a favor and just stay here! It was a terrific home base while we were in Istanbul.

Room Tip: The rooms on the ground level get plenty of light, and are extremely large and spacious. Many other...

“Sultanahmet Gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

This family-run hotel could not be more cozy, or better located if you want to be right near the top museums in Sultanahmet– yet it’s remarkably quite (it’s on hillside, on a side street off the southwest corner of the Hippodrome… this is the quieter side of the tourist area). It’s a family-run hotel, with wonderful personal attention to tourist needs, car or taxi arrangements, etc. Rooftop breakfast terrace has a stunning view overlooking the Sea of Marmara. In fact, while many Istanbul hotels boast of a “view of the Bosporus” most of those views are typically out over high building tops to a tiny sliver of water. The Ada looks out directly (south) onto the Sea of Marmara. Most of the rooms have a sea view. Wonderful full breakfast as you’d expect in Turkey– you can linger over that and just sit and watch the birds arc about over the tiles roofs toward the sea. Our first time in this hotel, we were treated like regulars–and would return to this unpretentious, lovely small hotel in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: While in Turkey we stayed at the Ada three times. The first night we had a small standard room, nice...

“Outstanding Hotel and Great Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

We spent 7 wonderful days in Istanbul at the ADA Hotel. We could not have been happier. ADA Hotel is ideally located in the Old City – Sultanamet – within a 5 minute walk to the Hippodrome and only a couple of extra minutes to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Roman Basilica Cisterns and Topkapi Palace. The tram is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. We walked to the Grand Bazaar in about 15 to 20 minutes. The proximity of the hotel allowed us to easily return during the day to change or nap or take a quick break. The room was a nice size with a king-size bed, small fridge and plenty of storage spaces for luggage and toiletries. We had a beautiful view of the Sea of Marmara. Each day we looked forward to the rooftop breakfast which was a sumptuous array of traditional hot and cold breakfast foods plus many unique dishes and sweets. We had “American” coffee or Turkish coffee as desired. There is no better start to the day than sitting on the rooftop of the ADA Hotel, dining on fresh fruits and sipping coffee while looking out over the sea and watching the ships position themselves for entry to the Bosporus. The owners are extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and speak English. The linens in the room were high quality and spotless and the towels fluffy and big. There was a safe in the room but we felt no need to use it. We used the free WiFi extensively. There is free international calling from the room phone but we did not use that. I give this hotel, owners, and location a 10 star rating and would recommend to all. In fact, 2 of our friends have booked our Ottoman Suite for an upcoming visit to Istanbul.

Room Tip: I wanted a room with a view of the water. The web site lets you chose sea view or not. It was worth...

“Great hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

Ada Hotel is wonderfully located, with many rooms that have views of the Bosporus Sea. It is a short walk to Hippodrome Square, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and bazaars. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and after over 3 weeks traveling in Turkey Ada Hotel had the best breakfast buffet of any place we stayed. The rooftop dining is particularly lovely. We did not find the rooms to be too small, and in fact they were very comfortable, with comfortable beds, large soaking tub, nice size bathrooms with shower, and a sitting area with desk, and in-room coffee pot, WiFi, and everything was squeaky clean. Ada Hoellooks as if it has been very recently renovated. If you get to Turkey without an itinerary the owners will help you arrange your trip. I highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for one with a view of the sea.
