“Hotel Niles - Great Find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2009

For many years my wife and I have been avid followers of tripadvisor and have been rewarded with helpful tips and information. We have never posted a review but our recent stay at the Hotel Niles truly deserve a word or two.

Hotel Niles is a boutique hotel located in the Beyazit district - 5minutes from the Grand Bazaar, a short leisurely walk to theTopkapi Palace, Agia Sofia & the Blue Mosque. The tram stop is conveniently located at the end of the street where you'll also find a fantastic delicacy shop seeling all flavors of baklavas and trukish delights. On first arrival, you might get slightly disappointed with the location as the hotel is right smack in the center of business establishments and on a narrow street but don't let this mislead you. It is in fact conveniently located and a very safe place to be in. We once returned to the hotel around 1am after a Turkish dinner and show in a nearby restaurant and never felt any threat to our safety.

Being a boutique hotel, please do not expect to find large sized rooms. However, the clealiness of the room, the bathroom and the hotel in general makes for a very pleasant stay. The attention to detail and the level of service is the real reason for this review. The impeccable service we received from Seda, the front office manager, Murat the rooftop terrace server and the hotel staff altogether made our stay very enjoyable. They were always so willing to help with suggestions and anything we needed were taken care of immediately. I think this is a great advantage to staying in smaller hotels. One night, we couldn't sleep because of the time difference and found ourselves in the 24hour rooftop terrace and Murat prepared sandwiches and served us the delicious apple tea - all complimentary! He even kept us entertained until it was time to say goodnight at 4am.

Our short 4 night stay was really made enjoyable by Seda and her staff and we're looking forward to our next trip as there is still so much to see of this beautiful country. Keep up the good work and your service of excellence!

My husband and I booked 5 nights here to explore Istanbul and celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were not disappointed. The helpfulness of all the staff right from the start was fantastic and helped us make the very best of our stay so that we got to see everything we wanted. They also recommended places to eat that were really good ranging from restaurants to kebab houses. The waiters on the rooftop bar were very polite and good for a chat when there was no-one else around. On our anniversary we returned to our room after a day cruising on the Bospherous and there we found a vase of flowers, small bottle of wine, bowl of fruit and Turkish Delight. What a lovely surprise. The lady on reception made us a certificate to congratulate us on our anniversary. We really made the right choice staying at the Niles Hotel and would definitely stay here again if we return to Istanbul. We have already recommended it to our friends.

We were guests in room 301 recently leaving on Nov. 1st. I'm writing to share our experience which was extremely positive. I don't know the names of anyone with the exception of a charming young waiter, Urie [?] to whom I wish a happy engagement/marriage but everyone was very nice from the chamber maid with the cute giggle and sweet voice, the porter who was very kind to bring breakfast very early the day we left and especially the beautiful and knowledgeable young woman at the front desk who was always very nice and extremely helpful, I highly recommend this hotel which is located at Ordu Caddesi Dibekli Cami Sokak No: 19 Bayazit-Istanbul.

Stayed for a couple of nights at the Hotel Niles having booked directly with the Hotel. Customer service was excellent including airport transfers although these were far from cheap. The breakfast was very good, both the food and the view from the roof terrace dining room. The room wasn't the biggest and a little musty but in general not a bad stay at what appears a reasonable price compared to others in the area.

It is telling that so many reviews mention the warmth and great service from the staff - you can rely on this consistency. The staff is what makes this hotel exceptional from the first orientation to their offers of food and drink. Everything else is good about it too. Yes, the rooms are small (typical of Istanbul), but clean, comfortable and well appointed. It is very convenient to get to the main tourist sights or wherever as you are 5 minutes from the main road and tram. It is located in a wholesale district so this can be dangerous for shoppers as there are many real deals to be found in these non-touristy shops. Fortunately, I didn't discover that until my last day of 5 days here. Rooftop terrace is great, open 24 hours, friendly staff, great breakfast (my friend thought best she had in 2 wks in Turkey). Free computer in lobby is a great service. This hotel has all most people would need.

My mother and I stayed at Hotel Niles twice during October 2009. From the greeting on arrival from reception right until the end every staff member was highly professional and the hotel spotlessly clean. The view from the roof top is fabulous looking partly over the Bosphorous and the Cami just up the road adds to the ambiance of Istanbul when the Hoca sings out his prayer call. It is not overly loud as the windows are pretty much soundproofed. This is a nice quiet area at night for sleeping and literally only 3 minutes walk to Grand Bazaar when waklng at normal pace up a wee cobble stoned hill. Breakfast choice was extensive and plentiful. This hotel knows how to provide 5 star service for half the price. All pick ups to and from the airport were arranged for us without any problems. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I will be back when I am next in Istanbul for sure.

Booked because of good reviews. There are many 4* hotels that could learn from the service, friendliness and cleanliness of this hotel. Yes, rooms are small but you only sleep in them. The rooftop terrace is lovely. There are drinks available all day and evening and you are encouraged to order a takeaway from a nearby restaurant and eat it on the terrace. All the staff speak English- most of them excellently. i cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. It is in a side street which may not be easy to find on arrival so I would recommend a pre booked car from the airport - it is worth the extra for the stress free arrival.
