“Mixed Experience”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights. It was only 70 Euro, and we were on a budget. The rooms were very clean, and each morning we received a simple but complementary breakfast. The location is fantastic. Just a minutes walk from all the major attractions. Great view from the hotel balcony. All the other staff was fantastic and accommodating. They let us leave our baggage in the lobby after checkout so we could tour on our last day with ease.

Our only complaint was with the manager. Our key was made of a very cheap alloy, and it broke off in the lock when we went to open the door our first morning. The front desk did not have a spare, as the other one had broken a few weeks back. We had to wait 30+ minutes for the manager to show up. They eventually had to switch out the whole door handle so that we could get into our room. We didn't mind the touring delay too much until the manager informed us it would be 30 Euro for his troubles. The only thing that needed replacing was the key. A staff member switched the door handle out, and it was still usable once a replacement key was made. I had to fight him on the fee on the basis that there should always be a spare key, and that this was really an inconvenience for us - not the hotel management. He eventually gave in, but not before making a snide comment: "30 Euros isn't a lot for me, but if it's a lot for you...".

Would not return.

We booked a room via a booking website and managed to get a double room for 3 nights at the price of 90euro. One day after the reservation another friend decided to join so I called the hotel asking if we could change the room to a triple, they said yes and for an extra charge of 30euros in total. Once we arrived there the desk clerk told us he didn't know anything about the extra person and if we wanted that change it will cost us 90 euros more. This was the bitter taste of the whole experience. On the other hand the location of the hotel is very good (walking distance to important landmarks, a metro, the Bosphorus) and the neighbourhood is quiet. The breakfast is really basic and the rooms are not all that clean. If you are not picky this is a good hotel as far as money-value goes, but as far as I am concerned next time I visit Istanbul I will search for another one.

I booked this hotel with booking,it was a good offer,3 night in a double room for 100 euro.
I said to myself,it could be bad but for this price...
Well... The hotel is near rhe blue mosque,is very small and dirty. The room was small too, stinked really badly, also the bathroom. The water on the floor of the shower waslike a pool, stinky pool.
They changed the duvet the first day for two that were even more dirty.
Breakfast was poor, with just 4 tables.
The staff was extremely unpolite, except for the women. They tried to charge me 10 extra euro for each ticket for the airport. I asked them cause i thought was easier but i figured out that the same shuttle at the same time was half price in all the other hotel.
I think this people is just rude.
I won t recommend this hotel to anyone, but probably you can find even worste

Booked one night here as arriving late from Ankara only to arrive and be told they had overbooked so only had single rooms left. The single room was about the size of a coffin with a perspex wall between the bed and the bathroom. The was no room down the side of the bed to walk so had to climb into bed from the base and could not put suitcase at base of bed as door wouldn't close so left that in receptionand only took clothes needed for next day into room.

The bathroom had a toilet that you had to sit on sideways as your knees cracked the wall if sitting correctly and had a shower that to get to you had to siddle around the toilet bowl.

Breakfast was the best part of the stay as it was at least downstairs at a table where you could stretch your legs and the coffee was hot.

Would not recommend a stay here even if last place in Istanbul.

Room Tip: Look elsewhere Konak up road for 10L more and comfortable rooms with bath.

We had a terrible experience with this hotel.
we booked through expedia a very nice looking room at STONE HOTEL for an expensive price of 269 euros the first night and 120 the next 2 nights.
we arrived at the hotel, not to say the Taxi driver did not find the hotel, he was so lazy ... istanbul traditionnal ...
so we arrived at hotel and the receptionnist tells us the hotel is full unexpectedly and say that they have nice suite room in a "friend" hotel. we wait here one hour just to figure out and then they take us to this very nice hotel named sultan's eyes ... and ...
the room is the worst I have ever seen in my life maybe worth 30 euros. So tired we take it but this is a real scam.
after some inquiry, we figure out the hotel price (of SULTAN EYE's ) is really 90 euros that we paid 269 euros at STONE HOTEL.
So please be very careful with those scammers

Room Tip: rooms are bad

A shoddy, dirty hotel, situated 2 or 3 streets behind the blue mosque. A place where you pay the total amount of your stay before you even get to see your room.
If you like spacious rooms don't go here!! You'll be offered a cupboard that you couldn't swing a cat in for 120 euros! Leaky faucets, decor that would make you want to scream, all in all a not to be lived experience!
There must be two Sultan's eye hotels in Istanbul 'cause if not the term comfort in this one is a joke!
