I am so glad I was given a recommendation to stay at Vezir. The location is right where you want to be to see the top sights of Istanbul. The friendly and helpful staff will arrange tours, shuttles, and appointments, as well as offer solid advise and what to see and do. The rooms are clean and tidy, nothing fancy; a good value for the money. The only down side are the pillows. There is a breakfast buffet that changes daily, complete with fresh baked goodies. In addition to being in the Old City it is also very near real Turkish neighborhoods for the times you may want to get a way from the tourist areas. Very reasonably priced and authentic restaurants are within a 5 minute walk. Altun and Darya are very professional and take great care of each guest.

Stayed here with myself, my daughter & 4 friends in June, definately recommend it, Altun was an absolute legend & looked after us so well - she's the hotel manager & was able to organise a trip to the beach for us too! Hotel is literally 5 min walk from the Blue Mosque & all the sights in & around that area, walk down the hill & you will see the sea - and go dolphin spotting!

Room Tip: We had a twin room with an extra bed for my daughter at the back - think this was quieter than at th...

My family and I have just spent a wonderful few days in Istanbul and stayed at The Vezir. It was ideal for us.

First, let's get the couple of negatives out of the way. There are parts of this hotel that are "tired". The shower curtain did not hang within the shower tray thus soaking the bath mat and the decor of the bathroom was a little past it's best. Also, whether due to an error by the booking agent or the hotel, our booking of 2 twin rooms had turned into 2 doubles - no hassle for my wife and myself but not good for my son and daughter in the other room.. But in answer to these, the hotel does not sell itself as 5* and then room situation was well dealt with within minutes of us arriving at the hotel.

The plus' are far stronger. The rooms were clean and comfortable with working fridges and air-conditioning (essential for us at the end of June). The staff were all lovely and keen to help. The location is wonderful - within minutes walk of Hagia Sofia, Topkai and The Blue Mosque. All of this with a hotel that was very much at the lower end of cost.

If you are looking to stay in Istanbul, you intend to be out sightseeing most of the day and want a friendly, convenient and inexpensive hotel, this is a great place.

I stayed with friends for three nights in June 2013. The hotel's location very close to Sultanahmet and to the sea. The area is full of tourists and facilities like shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel's staff is very very very welcoming, cool and very friendly for all the duration of the staying. Very good morning buffet in the terrace!

Paid 100€ for a tiny tripple in a hostel quality Vezir and had to change room because of a broken toilet. Overall friendly staff and great location but hotel is really worn out with electricity sockets hanging from walls, no elevator, unattached toilets, filty shower curtains, dirty carpets and horrible decor. We were also told to pay a totally different price than what the pricelist on the wall says.. With these prices you can easily get something very nice.
