“Lovely boutique hotel with great service!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a bigger room based on our preferences (high floor with sea view). Room was clean, big and bed very comfortable.

To top it off, due to a flight cancellation the day before we had missed our tour and had requested for a Cappadocia trip to be arranged for us the next day. Not only did Emre did a great job of sourcing last min tours for us but had sought to match the price of the tours with one we had found over the Internet! We were also able to cancel our last night at the hotel (due to the Cappadocia trip) with no extra charge, even agreeing to us keeping our luggages there until we return.

Overall great experience and fantastic view of the Bosphorus from the terrace! Very happy and would return next time we are in Istanbul.

The hotel is located in a 'working class' neighborhood and you definitely get the local flavor rather than the tourists view.

It is about 10-15 minutes walk from the Blue Mosque and other historical locations. It is also minutes from the Fish Market and the fish restaurants famous for the area.

Rooms are adequate size and the service is great. They helped me locate missing luggage and even negotiated a special rate for us when it came to retrieving it.

The hotel restaurant is pricy for evening fare and the food is over 'prepared' ( fish wrapped in salmon). Better food and prices are nearby.

Overall it's a great value for a newer hotel with a ideal location.

We had a great stay in Ottoman Hotel Park. The rooms are really nice and very clean. The location of the hotel is good, it's only a few minutes walk up the hill to the main tram road. Breakfast, with a variety of products, is served at the roof terrace, with a beautiful sea view. Last but not least, a special compliment to the staff of this hotel, for the wonderful and helpful service. We felt very at home.

Hotel staff acts with high motivation. Hotel was good choice. We can recommend this hotel to all persons that appreciate a trouble free accomodation. At the beginning the staff explained the way to all the relevant sightsseing points and locations of typical domestic restaurants.

Room Tip: Top floor, sea view.

We stayed three nights in April 2013. We used the hotel airport transfer service both ways which was (if I recall correctly) 60 Euros return for two people (in total, not per person) and was flawless.

As you'll see from other reviews the welcome to the hotel is detailed and very helpful. It starts with a city orientation on a map, pointing out tram lines, key tourist sites and so and then a load of leaflets on organised tours. My two tips: (1) if you do a river trip book it yourself at the harbour for a fraction of the cost and (2) if you'd like a guide for a half-day pre-book it from home as it costs much more locally.

Our room (101, appropriately) was fine in size and with a decent bathroom but suffered from residual drain noise from adjacent rooms. It also faced a side road so no view, which wasn't a problem as we spent the day outdoors.

Breakfast was a small but decent buffet selection and was included in the room rate.

The hotel is a ten minute walk from the main sites. The directions are a bit vague but part of the joy of Istanbul is getting lost - enjoy it!

We have chosen this hotel by the reviews we read here, tempting hotel photos and our own needs: authentic location, walking accessibility of cultural sights and a culturally tintet interior. We got a warm welcome from the relationship manager Emre who gave us a 20-minute walk-through the places to see and things to do in the city. The reception service was wonderful, roof terrace view incredible and location proved out to be at the heart of the old city. The rest derserves a comment. As we fell for the photos provided by the hotel, the room falls short of our expectations. The standard room was much smaller in size than expected and the cleaning standards could be better, without going into details. The bed turned out to be extremely uncomfortable (too hard) and the pillows way too high, so that we did not feel rested in the morning. Although the staff was very helpful in adjusting the conditioner, they insisted to come in in the middle of my bath session just to fill in the bar, which we did not ask for. If you are in a mood for a drink on a roof terrace, be wary of the pricy drinks and scarce choice of wine. Some of the fresh pressed juices on the menue are not available either. But generally a good stay with friendly personnel being its biggest virtue.

Room Tip: Go for en upgraded room with the Marmara sea view rather than standard

We visited Istanbul on our way back from Pakistan. It was our first time in Istanbul and we were relatively nervous, especially given that we had unpleasant experience with Turkish Airline. Ottoman Hotel was in all respect great experience. Particularly the staff was friendly, hospital and eager to help with any and everything. I wish I could have written this review right after my trip so that I could mentioned names of the staff members took care of it. My wife and I were especially happy the way the staff, in particular, and Turkish people in general expressed love for our young kids.

The hotel is located in historical Sultan Ahmet area and less than 10 min walk from all the historical sites (Blue Mosque, TopKapi Palace etc.). We will definitely stay at the Ottoman Hotel Park when we visit Istanbul the next time.
