“A black-and-white twist”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

A convenient choice for those visiting for work or tourism, that goes beyond a mere business hotel. It is perfectly situated in the Taksim area, in the heart of the city. Comfortable rooms and bathrooms, helpful people around, and a bright breakfast room with a vast buffet and a delicious yufka-cheese-pie. The splendid prints of Ara Guller's black-and-white depictions of Istanbul transform the impersonal surroundings of a typically big hotel, giving the visitor a glance into old Istanbul.

Room Tip: Avoid the second floor

The best part of the hotel is its location. It a a couple of minutes walk to the famous Taksim Square and Istiklal Street famous with tourists is also closeby. The Taksim Metro station is just across the road.
All famous destinations is Turkey like the Hagia Sophiya, Blue Mosque etc are not very far away from the place. Public taxis are always available outside the hotel and there are a plenty of eating options around the hotel too.
Though at first sight the hotel may seem small from the entrance as the lobby directly opens to the road junction in front, but it is reasonably sized and not at all noisy as I perceived earlier.
The hotel has 9 floors and has decent facilities for guests, like the sauna, indoor pool, spa, firness centre, coffee shop, Japanese themed restaurant on ground floor apart from the rooftop one etc.
The room was fairly sized and cosy. It also gives you pillow options to choose from. The digital clock in the room is helpful, but one has to set the time again after each exit as the last setting is not retained once the power is turned off. This needs some attention. The room and corridors are carpeted and well lit and the temperature within is maintained well to.
The downside is that one does not get any view from the room. But then its so close to the activity that one would not prefer to spend idling in the hotel.
The buffet breakfast is ample with choices for everybody.
Nice hotel in all.

Room Tip: Higher rooms can give some view, but the room size may vary owning to the shape of the hotel.

The hotel is very nice, the rooms are modern and clean, the breakfast is superlative and the hotel is in the city center, next to Taksim square, the metro station is near and in the evening there are a lot of restaurants and pubs there.
There are also a swimming pool inside the hotel, and a sauna, and a terrace on the top floor with a beautiful view of the city.

I don't think I've ever stayed at a hotel before which offered free ironing service as part of the stay. I asked for a quiet room, and that's exactly what we got. We didn't hear hardly any street noise in our room on the 5th floor. Rooms are modern, spacious and well appointed. Free water and ironing were welcome amenities. The hotel is just 2-3 minutes walk to the Taksim metro subway station, which is 10 - 15 min. ride to Sultanahmet. Hotel staff was very helpful and competent. Special thanks to Onur at the front desk for his kindness. Make sure you visit their terrace restaurant for a meal or drink - the view is excellent. Besiktas area nearby has a number of indoor/outdoor restaurants and bars overlooking the Bosphorus. Would stay in this hotel again in a heartbeat if I could.

The hotel was very nice. We were in the biggest apartment. It was with very nice view. The location was very good. But outside was very noisy. The staff was normal and the breakfast was normal too. This was my second visit at this hotel. And I think will come and for a third time.

I was very satisfied with the location and the atmosphere of Point Hotel Taksim. However, there's one spot in the varnish: I needed to send a letter, gave it to the receptionist and paid for the postage. However, the letter never arrived. Did they throw the letter in the bin ?

The hotel is quite charming, with little souvenirs in the room, the rooms are very good and i liked this hotel. However in the breakgast there no natural orange juice. But the hotel is quite charming. The location is good in Taksim Square. Nowadays, however is not the best place to be in Istambul, but I recomend this hotel
