This is a great little hotel. Close to the metro line to get anywhere in Istanbul easily. It is only one train to the Grand Bazaar, Sultanahmet, Galata Tower or the ferry to Asia. There is shopping close by for water or anything you might need during the day. There is also a huge farmer's market just two blocks away with every kind of fruit or vegetable you would want to try. And of course, there are vendors for tea and trinkets. The only downside is the lack of air conditioning. I had windows that got sun from about 2pm until 7pm, but the room stayed reasonably cool. There always seemed to be a slight breeze. They serve a good Turkish breakfast (cucumbers, tomatoes, eggs, bread and tea) every morning. There is a great park just two blocks away that's open until midnight. It's a great place to go for an evening ice cream, tea or coffee. It is very friendly with a kids area, and a running track. Lot's of the kids play in the spraying fountain. The price is very good, averaging only $25 per night for a room with a private bath. There are also rooms with a shared bath for less. For the thrifty traveler, this is the place to stay. However, these rooms are only available in summer as it's used as a women's dormitory during the school year.
