“Must go!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2013

My husband and I call Florida home these days but we grew up in Istanbul and lived in NYC for more than 10 years. Having a meal at NY-IST Cafe gave "coming home" a whole new meaning! The food is great, try "manti" if you are after a local specialty, or just try Turkish coffee if you are caffeine addict like me! The place is hidden in a historic district in Istanbul but you'll agree it is a gem when you manage to find it!:) Merve is a great host too, we will definitely go back next Summer!
We have not stayed at the hotel upstairs but heard great things about it from our neighbors next table over.. Might want to check it out..

“Great vibes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2013

Some friends and i visited Istanbul for a holiday recently and were regular visitors to NY-IST, whether for breakfast before an intimate Turkish bath or for a delicious cold Bomonti (100% malt) at the start of an evening. It's a really friendly and welcoming place, serving great value food (a friend described the pancakes as some of the best he's ever tasted), with interesting decor in a central location, Crucially, if you're looking to continue a sordid extramarital affair back at home while on holiday like one of our party, they also have free wifi. As far as i'm aware the wifi is also available for less morally dubious purposes.

“Great place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013 via mobile

The menu just like the name of the place consists of a mix of American and turkish cousine.
The place is owned and managed by a lovely woman named Marwa who is always present to assist you picking off the menu.
Trully loved the place and made my turkish visit worth. Would most definitely return on my next visit.
