“this is one of the best secrets in Istanbul”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2014

We stayed for 9 days in this hotel. It truly is a gem!! Rooms are elegant, kept the vintage architectural details, added all modern amenities, wonderful bed/linens (yes, even nespresso machine!!), and quiet. Staff is superb, arranged all daytrips, excellent recommendations for restaurants, and even made a sandwich to take to airport on day of very early departure. Breakfast is wonderful, with so much food that no lunch is needed, and served on a lovely little patio. Our praises cannot be higher for this hotel, and the price is unbeatable!

We stayed here two nights in June 2014. This really is a gorgeous place, with elegant, spacious, comfortable rooms. We have stayed in both Sultanahmet and in Beyoglu, and I prefer being in Beyoglu, where things are a little less intensely touristy. The breakfast was really nice, and I was smitten with the antique elevator (there's also a modern elevator if the old one makes you nervous).

One caveat: we booked a "superior" (aka standard) room on Booking.com and it was advertised as having a courtyard view. What this turned out to mean was that our room opened onto a fire escape, and if you walked down the fire escape to the next landing and look down over the edge, you can see into the courtyard. So if you're hoping for a nice view or a usable balcony, don't book a "courtyard view" room. This didn't impact our stay much, but it did seem like false advertising -- so I was a little annoyed that when I mentioned it to woman at the front desk, she just shrugged and said "That's how all the standard rooms are." I said that the booking website had advertised it as a courtyard view, and she said "oh, I don't know anything about that." Maybe she didn't, but it wasn't exactly a helpful response. Otherwise, the front desk was helpful and pointed out some good restaurants in the area.

We can't say enough about this place: incredibly comfortable beds, powerful shower, excellent breakfasts. Spotlessly clean. Front desk staff were friendly and extremely helpful. They made our trip to Istanbul perfect. Central location but away from tourists. Ask for dinner recommendations from staff. They were always spot-on!

I already fell in love with Armada Pera when I saw the round, red sofa through the green framed glass doors/walls. And getting inside didn’t make it worse! The first room I saw was very nice, but not quite what I was looking for. The girl in the reception understood immediately what I was looking for and when Menhet showed me room 502 I was completely taken – with the sun shining through the French doors and a private balcony with view over the city. Luckily my husband loved it as much as I did ☺

The room was very comfortable. It’s not very spacious, but super functional (with an entrance with a huge cupboard and lots of space for the luggage), everything worked to perfection, very clean and nicely decorated. For us the biggest draw was the balcony. It’s really worth the extra money for the Deluxe room with balcony.

The nice breakfast was served in a small courtyard at the back of the hotel, so you could eat ‘al fresco’, and in the company of 4 black kittens. On the roof there is a terrace from where you can enjoy the views and a fresh breeze.

Location is very good (as long as you don’t arrive with public transportation), away from Istiklal, but near the Pera Museum (where we enjoyed a Warhol exhibition) and the super charming non-touristic area of Cihangir with all the cafes and good restaurants. And with easy access to old town - it’s not too far from public transportation while you’re there, but arriving/leaving with luggage you’ll need a taxi.

Staff is great, very attentive, and helpful with everything from getting taxi, to giving advice etc.

We had a lovely stay, and would love to stay again. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: It’s really worth the extra money for the Deluxe room with balcony.

IF your looking for a clean hotel , good location, nice service, good standard etc.... This is THE HoTEL to stay at :)

The only negative thing to say is that you can not stop the car just our side the hotel (have to walk a few meters but the staff are more than eager to come and welcome you).

we mainly had contact with Server, a gusset manager who did a lovely job !

We stayed at the Pera Hotel in early June for 3 days and we had a wonderful stay.
First, the hotel is very well located, it is minutes away from the famous İstiklal Avenue where you have tons of shops, resaturants and people. It is also 10min walk away from super good restaurants and terrasses (Palazzo hotel restaurant, NuTerasse, etc). It is also about 15min walk down to the tram who will take you right in sultanahmet where you can visit the blue mosque, aya sophia, basilica cistern, bazaar, etc.
Our room was super clean, very design, had everything we needed, comfortable and quiet.
The staff at the hotel is the best part - they are so nice! We got amazing restaurant recommendations (one of my best meal : Duble Meze Bar), they made sure we have everything we needed, the service at breakfast was impeccable, the staff at reception Server was really nice with us and we met the owner of the hotel Mira who was also very giving, and took time to explain to us the history of the hotel, and sharing some tips about Istanbul!
Overall, wonderful stay, definetely recommend it!
