My friend and I went to 3 Amigos recently for dinner hoping it would be a mexican restaurant. It's not a mexican restaurant but it does have a few mexican dishes. The remainder of the menu is similar to what you would expect at any the Turkish restaurants nearby but more expensive. That was somewhat disappointing,
The restaurant has very nice modern decore, the view is good and the service was excellent. I ordered the combination Fajita, my friend ordered one of the chicken main dishes. Both us enjoyed our meal and we felt they were generous servings but felt it wasn't worth the price tag. The food was missing a wow factor. I could order something similar at another nearby restaurant for a cheaper price.
This restaurant could do great business if it did offer more authentic mexican dishes as the name suggests. This would position itself better in Taksim/Galata which is an area popular with many nationalities. There is a large gap in mexican food choices in Istanbul - this restaurant should capitalise on their name more, instead they've played it safe with offering standard Turkish restaurant dishes. Its a nice setting and has a great opportunity to offer something a little different from its neighbours. Adding a few more entree and main course mexican dishes would have people talking and walking in their door.
Would I go back? Probably not at the moment until the menu reflected their mexican name.
