“good for sleeping with low budget”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2014

I am wondering if below comments are about the same hotel where i was aug 2013 as there is no buffet for breakfat; only a dish but containing cheese, olives; honey; butter; bread and tea. no other things. the hotel fatih where i was is http://www.booking.com/hotel/tr/fatih-istanbul.fr.html?aid=301664;label=istanbul%2Ffatih-b7naQCH7ucqjXbLo8ZRctgS23993949364%3Apl%3Ata%3Ap11000%3Ap2%3Aac%3Aap1t1%3Aneg;sid=4e78807e56c2069928647c30b2d41456;dcid=1
you can also see my pics.
I chosed this book because it was cheap and suited my budget as we were 5; my wife and our three daughters .
location is very good and very safe and close to restaurants; normal and de luxe shops and other monuments which ere not famous as sultan ahmet; aya sophia. close also to buses to go to taksim; besiktas....
Rooms are clean as we had 2 rooms double and triple. they clean them every day and supply you with new towels; shampoo....; the only PROBLEM is that shower and toilet are shared and some times you re in emergency you find the toilet busy.
the manager Goran is very helpful. except one woman from staff dosnt smile at all. but one day i heard her spaking russian with other staff ; she is ukrainian; so as i know some words in russian i started to say to her when i met her DOBRE DEN....SPACIBA..DOSVEDANIA... so she started to smile to me and serves me well....
If you just looking where to sleep with low budget in good and safe location Fatih hotel is OK
tip:Avoid rooms close to shower wich is also toilet as you ll here every thing and it is much noisy.
In front of the hotel there is a restaurant one of its staf called Abdelwahab is very helpful. for taxi to airport......with fair price.

The room, at least the single, was small 4th floor with very steep stairs the shared toilet/shower facilities were ok even though the cleaning throughout the hotel were not good enough, well ... good enough for me as i have 15 hours layover, and i just need to take a nap!
Wifi : work well only at reception.
Tv: the only channels in English was bbc news
Staff and Location : Good!

It's a small hotel with
- really small rooms (mine was not ready when I arrived, even if I arrived 4h after the official arrival hour)
- dirty bathroom
- very nice people at the reception, but not very efficient (see phrase no 1)
- steep stairs (very uncomfortable if you are with your luggage)
- for me it's a big inconvenient that there's no reading lamps near the bed
- and the biggest of the disadvantages: no sound isolation! You hear everything: your neighbour sneeze, people taking shower, doors open, mulla calling to the prayer... So if you have problems to sleep in such conditions, I really do not advise you to choose this hotel

Very cheap hotel. Staff was amazing with us. Breakfast is simple, but enough. However is not a hotel to staying many nights. Hotel stays more or less 15min of metro station that leads to Ataturk airport. Bad points: Really small rooms. Impossible to open a bag on it. Stairs on entrance also really hard to climb and bedroom door was hard to close and open.

Room Tip: Try to choose on 1st floor, in very near the bathroom.

This is quiet a decent place to stay, especially if you are young and don't mind walking up a lot of stairs and if you find it quite OK to share the bathroom with others. Minimal breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. An interesting area, at some distance from the main sights in the Sultanahmet area. Don't miss the lively and colurful Wednesday market around Fatih-moskén!

3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

I booked and reserved the hotel, and when I got there, no rooms were available. I was taken to another hotel, and then back to this one, only to be moved from one room to another again.
The staff, although were nice and friendly, you must be careful. They were the people who wanted to be careful that I wouldn't get ripped off by a taxi driver, but on the last day, ripped me off themselves. One man at the reception, talked into reserving a ride to the airport in a shuttle, and I paid him 60 lira's for it in cash. I was told it would be better than a taxi, which would charge me 55 lira's. So when I left to go to the airport a taxi picked me up - no shuttle. The taxi meter read 30.81 liras when we got to the airport. So the hotel - the one man who told me to pay him 60 lira's must have pocketed the rest.
Other than this incident, the hotel is okay for the money.

Room Tip: No tips here, you're on your own.
