“Highly recomended”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

We stayed for three weeks in August. Lovely place and lovely people. Everything very new and very comfortable. The apartment was cleaned daily. Good high speed wifi. Located in a quiet back street with local shops. Great fresh bread from the bakers across the street! All in all, well worth a stay.

Stayed in Istanbul for 4 nights and my wife and I decided we wanted to skip the traditional hotel experience in favor of having some more space and a feeling of home. Given that we travel for business and pleasure several weeks a month, we were nothing less than blown away by the our stay at Homage. The building is in the heart Beyoglu within a walking distance to Istiklal street and even upon entering feels as though you are entering your penthouse in NYC complete with 24 hour concierge.

Having stayed in apartments in other European cities such as Barcelona and Paris, we were mildly concerned about the "hassle" of having to book a property and having to make multiple phone calls, etc to arrange everything. Absolutely NOT the case with Homage. We were easily able to view our options online through their website www.homageistanbul.com and make all of our reservations etc through the website. The pictures online of our apartment were EXACTLY what the room looked like (which is so often not the case) down to the blanket on the bed. In this case it truly was what you see is what you get.

As for the apartment itself, it was well priced and the design was fantastic. Completely modern quarters including a kitchen, beautiful artwork, LARGE (especially for Europe) bathrooms, and the touches of Turkey such as the bedding and traditional Turkish rugs that really set this place apart. The rooftop terrace has a view of the city that feels straight out of a movie and the staff go out of their way to ensure you have everything and anything you need.

Overall this was a fantastic option (and a cheaper one compared to most hotels in Istanbul) that gave us an experience to remember. We have already booked our return trip back to Istanbul for the holidays and will be staying again at Homage.

We stayed at Homage at the end of March, early April 2013. The apartment was lovely - everything was new, clean, comfortable and beautifully designed. The owner and staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. It's in a good location in Beyoglu (although we would have had some difficulty finding it when we first arrived, had we not requested a pick-up at the airport, which was excellent) and is an easy walk to restaurants, shopping and nightlife. We particularly enjoyed the great rooftop patio.

I spent a night in Istanbul recently and stayed at this apartment hotel. Conveniently located in Beyoglu, the hotel is within 5-10 minutes' walk to the shopping street of Aynali Cesme Cad and a further 5 minutes to the funicular station.Upon arrival, I was greeted by the friendly hotel manager and staff who gave me some helpful travel suggestions over a nice cup of tea and the welcoming fruit basket. I have booked "studio 2" on the hotel website and was pleasantly surprised to check into a spacious one-bed apartment (with an additional guest bedroom / small lounge) with a sizable kitchenette and bathroom. The apartment was recently done up, and tastefully so, with the stone-walled setting and selective hand-made furniture giving a great ambience. There is no lack of modern amenities, including LCD TV, free wifi access and ipod/iphone docking.

As the hotel has just opened up recently, there are some minor problems which can be easily fixed:
- the shower cubicle does not come with curtains so the floor can get quite wet after a shower
- the jug kettle used to boil water tastes of coffee. It seems a previous guest has used to kettle to heat up coffee (!) and unfortunately the smell stays...
- the cost of airport transfer booked through the hotel website is too steep - 45 Euro each way.

Despite these problems, this is certainly a good choice for anyone looking for the comfort of a 4-5 star hotel with clean and modern amenities (apart from the gym, swimming pool and business centre) but with infinitely more space.

Arriving in Istanbul for the first time. What can you expect in winter time and during Christmas days?

Arriving at HOMAGE Istanbul is feeling like coming home.

A fully restored villa as a home between the locals. HOMAGE is located in a quiet street with trees, some locale shops and a bakery at the opposite side of the building.

500 meter from the hotel starts the dynamic lively Beyoğlu. Here I find the legendary Pera Palace Hotel, Galata tower and Taksim square.
Trendy & Local bars and restaurants. All various kind of shops.

Back to HOMAGE Istanbul. It is a real homage. The owners give the history a twist with a warm welcoming home adres in Istanbul. Eye for details. The room was a stunning 80m2 including full equipped kitchen, seperate living room, high ceilings, wooden floors, fresh fruit everyday and welcoming fresh coffee beans to start the day fresh. Just a few of the details I find here.

All details here at HOMAGE have comfort, quality and a real home feeling. Together with the great staff that taking daily care of your stay and the warm welcome makes this place a real HOMAGE and a memorable stay.

homage.istanbul, an entirely new experience in Istanbul, is now open for reservation – short or long stays are welcomed.Hidden in a tranquil street, the newly renovated 1930s building is situated in a charming historical area of Beyoğlu, rich both in cultural and arts activities. There are Armenian and German churches as well as Emin mosque and a French hospital just to name a few landmarks in antiquity style which can be found in the immediate neighbourhood, Kaya on Coast that introduced you the famous CokCok Thai restaurant, is now introducing another gem in Istanbul, inviting you to experience the new in the old.The carefully reconstructed past century old building has been brought back to its old day charm by talented interior designer Serhan Gurkan of GMG Inex and Kay Ngee Tan Architects of Singapore and respectable conservation architect Dr. Cigdem Eren.It was essential to keep the original look of the building. You can feel this philosophy in the marble entrance door frame, concrete-stone covered legs, wrought iron in ground floor and entrance door of the building. In addition, embroideries and artworks on Byzantium path and arch noticed on the face of the building have been truly cleaned and repaired. Inside the building the banisters and doors have been preserved staying true to its original and the wrought irons and window frames of the ground floor have been manufactured accordingly. There is a back yard which is accessible from the ground floor. In addition, traverse ceiling has been kept in its original shape. There is a tailor made elevator serving between the ground floor and the 4th floor within the building. The closed area of the Terrace Floor (over the cage of staircase) has been closed by glass roof so that the gallery has been illuminated by natural day light. Some of the walls within the building have been kept in its original form, clay tiles.Modern days living essentials such as stainless steel kitchens, stylish and cosy living rooms offer you the warmth of a homecoming experience. Large flat screen televisions and i-pod docks make your stay more comfortable and relaxing. Concierge services for laundry and shopping are at your disposal and your booking at the nearby CokCok Thai Restaurant is granted for you, in case of request. ... more   less
