“In the heart of Istanbul”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2013

Great location, great staff, very tidy but when I was there was just a small problem with shower. It was hard to find the hostel, but finally it was reward by the location and by the good atmosphere in the hostel. Capuo Hostel is located in Istanbul's heart: Beyğolu, a good place to visit Istanbul and to enjoy it! Very nice experience!

Caupo Hostel is a bit difficult to find, but when you do that, it pays of triple time at least! A beautifully renovated interior with nice and helpful staff. The location is perfect to walk around the centre and far away enough not to be disturb by noise during the night. A beautiful kitchen just adds to the nice feeling of staying there. I highly recommend it!

I visited hostel 1 years ago. Hostel location is very good! Galata tower and Galata bridge are very closer. Also hostel officer was very kind! But you won't find hostel building in first time. Not easy. . .

We literally just stumbled over this place--I walked in looking for the former hostel, which apparently got bought out and totally reformed last year. It is rather hard to find, but once you get your bearings the location is very well located for getting around town. It's very close to the ferries that locals use for getting around and the subway, not too far from either Taksim or Sultanahmet. It took us maybe 20-30 minutes to walk to either.

The hostel itself was literally just reopened when we got there, and the place was pristine. Snow white beds and sheets, and a very clean bathroom/shower. I could see lines forming for the bathroom if the rooms were full (one per floor), but when we were there it wasn't a problem. The other people staying there were very nice--it's not really a party atmosphere, so very quiet and pleasant.

The staff here were also extremely nice and helpful. Their English was sufficient and they were very informative, helping us with how to get around town and make bus reservations. They even took some other people staying there out for a drive one day.

If I had to give a down side it'd be that they only have one single room (which we wanted, but wound up in a dorm), but that's pretty much Istanbul as a whole. If you want a private room, you will wind up paying for it anywhere you go.

From the first day at the last day, 4 days, in the bathdrom we have see the indication "Out of Order" in our shower. We have used the shower in the other flats, but is not so confortable.
The hostal is clean and new, is alredy to diffcult to find beacause is in a very small street.

Caupo was very hard to find, spent nearly an hour trying to find it and had to walk up a little back alley to get there, no signage, but once we found it the rooms are very clean and tidy, it is very new which was nice. Staff were very friendly and seem to be in a safe area. Wifi was very good, even from the rooms.
