“Made our visit to Istanbul worthwhile.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2013

Great Location and service, just minutes away from Blue Mosque and Arasta Bazar. WIFI was good and also accessible in the roof. The Hotel was very clean and the Staff exceptional. In addition to breakfast they also have tea in the evening I think from 4 to 7:30pm with some cookies and cake.

Room Tip: We stayed on Room 501 which had a view of the Sea.

Our decision to stay in the ancient city in Istanbul's Sultanahmet area to be within walking distance of the city's most remarkable historic sites lead us to the Aren Suites. Because it was tucked away on a quiet street, and opened in recent times so newly furnished, it became one of our top choices.

Once I had received quick and full answers to my many emailed questions to them, it became our final choice. From our arrival, everything that could be done to provide comfort or assistance was done by the friendly, hospitable staff: Mehmet, Volkan, Ahmed and Ilkir.

Our large, bright room with windows looking over the Sea of Marmora, a balcony, comfortable beds, a lovely bathroom, quality furnishings and breakfast for a reasonable price could not have been better. Whatever question we asked was helpfully answered, taxis were called and told by the hotel staff where we were going, and suggestions were made to assist.

Even the Hop On Hop Off tour bus was close by now running under the name of Big City Bus (where you should buy your tickets online to receive a 50% discount for now).

Wandering the old city with so much history on bright and warm autumn days was a pleasurable way to consider all the cultures and religions who had lived here and left their imprint over the centuries. Being able to easily walk back to our hotel or catch the tram to Sultanahmet to return after busy days was a pleasure to be greeted by a friendly face on the front desk - no anonymity at this hotel!

Enjoying a drink or breakfast on the Aren Suites' roof top terrace next to the overwhelming presence of the Blue Mosque hovering over the hotel in both day and night lighting was a constant reminder of the world's variety and beauty.

Thank you for such memorable stay.

Aren Suites is a nice little hotel with a good location in Sultanahmet (Old Town) and a lovely terrace where you can see both the sea and The Blue Mosque.
The room was average size with comfortable beds. Some of the furniture was a little worn but the cleaning was immaculate.
The breakfast buffet was varied for such a small hotel but can't be compared to a larger hotel.
The staff was helpful.
It was a nice stay but maybe a little overpriced.

Room Tip: Rooms with sea view are more expensive and most be booked specifically.

Clean, spacious room, comfortable beds, excellent shower, close to all the Sultanhamet attractions and a good breakfast. Woken up by the muezzin call on the first morning at 5.30 but was not a problem when the window was closed. Would stay there again.

I'm not normally one for small hotels preferring the main large chains as tried and trusted brands. Having been to Istanbul before however I appreciated the need to be in Sultanhamet rather than up around Taksim where most of those seem to be.
Sultanhamet is 'Old Town' Istanbul and Aren Suites is a five minute walk to the Blue Mosque - meaning that you are right where you want to be. Sultanhamet has its own bars and restaurants and is a really pleasant and very safe place to be.
Add to that a lovely roof terrace in an immaculately clean and well kept hotel with great hospitality then you have everything you need - well almost - A pool would be lovely but not sure where you could put one!!!

Room Tip: If you want a view of the Marmaris Sea then you need to be on the 4th or 5th floor. Corner suites pr...

Excellent small modern hotel in the old center of Istanbul (Sultanahmet). We stayed there for six nights in October and had a superior room on the fifth floor with very good sea view. Very good large beds. Fine bath room. Everything meticulously clean. Absloutely quiet position, so we could sleep even with open windows. The only thing you hear are some cats at night and of course the Muezzin from the Blue Mosque at daybreak. This really adds to the right flavour of the city. On the sixth floor there is a large terrace with chairs and tables where you can enjoy a drink and smoke if you like (otherwise the hotel is totally non-smoking area). The staff is very friendly and helpful. Service is just perfect. Super WiFi in the room. Air conditioning individually adjustable (we did not need it however). Breakfast offers a variety of fruits, yoghurt, sausages, cornflakes, tasty Turkish cheeses and pastries. Sitting is a bit tight, but not really a problem. The neighbourhood is very nice with wooden houses, many restaurants (among these Safak is very recommendable!) and romantic alleys. The great attractions like Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi or the Grand Basar are within easy walking distance. In addition Aren Suites offer an excellent price/quality ratio. Overall: could not think of a better place to stay for that amount of money.

This was not our first choice of hotel when booking through Turkey Travel so we were a little apprehensive, but could not have been more delighted with our beautiful room and superbly comfortable bed. Polite, always helpful staff who are happy to assist with requests. Stayed for six nights and would recommend. Walk to all main attractions, restaurants and cafes. The little bazzar nearby is a seven minute walk away where delicious, cheap food, and a diversity of shops are a real treat. Loved it.

Room Tip: Down stairs bedroom was quiet with two large windows that open
